We now sit on a sidewalk. No cars are passing by and the can is as empty as the streets.

"We have school tomorrow." Karma reminds.

"You mean today, in 5 hours." I correct.

"Yeh yeh, whatever. Maybe we should sleep." He suggests.

"Sleep? Don't know her." I joke.

"I've noticed. Allow me to introduce you two." He says turning his hand into a fist.

"No, thank you." I say.

"Sleep is important for that tiny brain of yours to be able to focus in those horrible class-A classes, with those dumbass teachers and subjects we should only learn next term."

"Should I feel offended?"

"Up to you."

"I'll choose not to, because I'm pretty sure you're right on this."

"I always am." He smirks.

I chuckle shaking my head.

He gets up from the floor and extends his arm in my direction with his palm turned up, for me to rest my hand on top of his.
I do so and he pulls me up.

He doesn't let go of my hand on our way to my house.

Once in front of my house, I take off my hoodie and throw it into the house through my open window. So now I'm wearing sweatpants with a pijama top.

We say goodbye and he heads in his way.

I slowly unlock the door. My heart is racing. I just hope I didn't get caught.

I successfully open the door and as I take my shoes off I hear footsteps.

I try to act as natural as I can.

"Hey, what were you doing outside in this hour?" My mom asks rubbing her eye. She's a very light sleeper.

"I just went to get some fresh air for a few minutes. I had a nightmare and I thought the night breeze would help." I lie.

"Alright sweetie, just make sure you don't go too far away from the house, take your phone with the location on and ask for permission to take my keys next time. Ok?"

"Yes, mom." I say and start making my way up the stairs. "Good night."

"Good night."

School has always been torture, but Asano is sick and Karma is in a whole different building. I've never felt so lonely in my not so long life.

How dare he not come to school without warning me!
The betrayal is real.

It's bearable when I'm in class, but after second period people have been trying to approach me during breaks.

I don't want to be mean and antisocial...
Maybe I do.

I just don't like them, I don't want to be around them. Despite never getting to know them.

I can do this, it's just one day.
Hopefully Karma will be waiting for me at the gates, after school.

To my surprise, Karma was waiting for me at the gates.

I give him a hug and we make our way to Nakamura's house.
Apparently, it's a cool spot where they all hang out often.

Right after we entered her house, my phone starts ringing.

"Where are you?" My mom asks as soon as I pick up.

"With some friends." I say in a low and scared voice.

"What friends?! I thought Asano was your only friend, if you can call him that." My mom has never been a fan of the Asanos.

I feel offended for a moment, but then I remember she has a point.
"I'm with Karma and a few others." I enlighten.

"Pass him the phone." She demands.

I do as she tells me to.

"Hey, miss Y/l/n. How are you?" He asks smiling.

I let them speak and go greet the others.

After some time Karma comes back with my phone.
"She lets you stay for a sleepover with the girls." He says with a smile.

"How do you do that? Please, teach me." I'm not sure why I keep getting surprised by his incredible lying and manipulative skills.

He shrugs and sinks down on the couch next to me.

I never thought those skills worked on Nakamura, but Karma and Kayano somehow convinced her to let the boys stay for the night as well.

This is ought to be interesting...
