Twenty-Three

"He did what?" Emmie asked, in utter disbelief as Auden relayed what happened between her and Jimin the night before.

"He held me," Auden said hating how cheesy it sounded when she spoke the words aloud.

"Auden Tremaine. If you're playing with me right now." Emmies eyes were so wide Auden worried they might fall out of her head.

"Emmie, please. Focus. I'm telling you this cause I need your help. I don't know what to do now."

Auden debated for quite some time weather to tell Emmie what happened or not. But she had to tell someone. She couldn't deny that something was happening between them and Auden was honestly a little shaken by the whole thing.

After the scary movie ended the night before the two had fallen sleep together on the couch. When she woke again he had already been gone. He texted explaining that he had to meet with Bang Si-hyuk early for something involving the world tour and that he was sorry he couldn't be there when she woke up.

Auden had looked at his message for so long and then the panic settled in. She asked Han to take her to Emmie's soon after that.

She decided to tell Emmie everything that had happened, no longer holding back any of the details. She just hoped her BTS obsessed best friend would be able to handle it.

"What do you mean you don't know what to do," Emmie looked at her almost scoldingly. "Auden, you do what any girl in their right mind would do. You let it happen."

Auden groaned, and put her head in her hands. "But I can't let it happen, Emmie. I could get fired."

"Rules can be changed."

"He's a K-pop idol."

"So?"

"So, when have they ever been seen in public with another girl before, ever?"

Silence emanated between them and Emmie looked like she might be starting to see Auden's inner conflict.

"Exactly. Even if something were to happen. I would be someone he would have to keep a secret. We would never be able to go out in public together, never be able to live normal lives, never—"

"I get it, I get it. Getting involved with an idol's lifestyle would be difficult."

"And we are from two completely different backgrounds. I'm just a basic girl from the US and he's a famous Korean pop star—" Auden trailed off, feeling defeated.

"But you like him," Emmie said, pointing out the obvious.

Auden looked at Emmie and gave her a "of course I do" face.

"He's. . ."

"An angel," Emmie finished for her. And Auden merely nodded.

"I thought at first that he would be just like the rest of them. But he's nothing like the other artists I've met in the industry."

Emmie pursed her lips and Auden could tell she wanted to say so many more things but was holding back.

"What?" Auden said, hating that she wasn't saying everything on her mind.

"Nothing," Emmie said, holding up her good arm in surrender, as her other arm was still in a cast.

"Just say it, I know you want to."

"I just can't believe that Auden Tremaine found someone that she likes more than music and lyrics. And that he's a member of BTS. I mean what are the chances my best friend starts falling for a member of my favorite K-pop band?"
