Mulligan

I was sitting in my last hour class, Calculus, with Lafayette next to me. The teacher was talking about some math concept. I don't know. My specialty is track, sewing, and having allergies, not math.

About fifteen minutes from the end of class, Gilbert's phone rang. "My aunt," he whispered to me and got up to leave the room. I explained to the teacher that the call was probably about Jefferson, so it was important.

A few minutes later, I got a text from Laf to meet him outside the classroom in the hallway. I speed walked out there.

"Hey, what's going on?" I asked him.

"My cousin... He very suddenly got worse... Something to do with the letter opener hitting his kidney... They put him on a helicopter to a better hospital in Seattle." He seemed distressed. I would be too, to be fair. I wasn't even that close with Thomas and I was worried about him.

"Oh geez. Well, if you know the hospital's name, maybe we can get on a plane to go there and make sure he's stable," I suggested.

"Yes, I think they said it was something like a gray rock memory hospital over the phone," Lafayette told me.

I  got out my phone to get plane tickets. "Let's get to the airport, then. We're going to Washington!"

"But we must get Madison first! They have not let him see my cousin at all and he is very worried," Lafayette said. He made a good point.

I sighed. "Okay, that makes a lot of sense." I checked my watch "There are only a couple of minutes left anyway." We started going to the classroom James was in as I added a third plane ticket. I was going to have to work extra hours at the boutique to pay these off.

Hello everyone! Yes, this book has been on hiatus for some what, 2 years? Me and the co-author, @fishyysoup have decided to once again, start this book back up. I have not been very active for the past year because I've moved over to AO3, and am writing another book for the audience there. While I am no longer very interest in the Hamilton fandom, I do plan on seeing this book through with the co-author. I would like to say this time chapters will be coming in a timely manner, but I struggle very bad with writers block, so I cannot guarantee that. With summer coming though, I think maybe I can write more, although I will be very busy. Expect a (much higher quality) chapter in the coming week. Thank you for still reading Something's Afoot.

Au revoir my little turtles 🐢
