Miku

As Miku helped out with school preparations the next week, she couldn't shake off the thought of having children. She knew it was something she should talk to Zorome about but she wasn't sure how she'd go about doing that. He was...immature, to say the least. She couldn't imagine him regarding the situation with the amount of thought it deserved.

He also had decided to make the school into some sort of boarding school instead. Miku thought it was strange how he'd abruptly announced that he wanted to do that but was relieved when the other future teachers seemed thrilled about it. She herself wasn't sure how she felt about making the school into a boarding school but she supposed it wasn't really that bad of an idea. For once Zorome had actually used his brain!

As days went by, Miku didn't talk to Zorome about having children. They were too busy working on stuff related to their future school. Each day was spent planning out classes and trying to get their idea approved by the people in charge of building things. It was a relief that they hadn't yet started building and hadn't even found a place to do it. Zorome's idea really wasn't bad and it seemed like many people agreed that they would feel better if they did that instead. Keeping it close to the Bird Nest really did seem like the best bet.

The thought of having kids nagged at Miku's mind and wouldn't let her rest. She adored children and so did Zorome. She knew everyone would be supportive if she chose to get pregnant. Yet she wasn't sure if she'd be able to with all the hectic stuff that was going on. Maybe once the school started she would be able to have a baby, though she wasn't sure when that would even happen. She had no idea if Zorome would approve of the idea or not, though he was immature at best and probably would have something stupid to say about it. Even if he had come up with the boarding school idea, there were times when it was like his brain had suddenly vaporized into thin air.

Miku tried to reason with herself by remembering that he absolutely adored kids and didn't mind caring for them. However, there was a nagging pang of doubt that made her think he'd not react well to her idea. If Kokoro could have a child with Mitsuru, why couldn't they? Would any of the other members of Squad 13 have children?

The way Kokoro looked at Ai made Miku's heart melt. She knew she'd feel the same love for her own baby if she ever decided to have one...or two, or three. She knew Zorome would too...there was no way he wouldn't. She knew how much he loved children.

She knew she had to make a decision to talk to him yet, though she wasn't sure if she could trust the sandy-haired boy to be mature about it.

Zorome

A week had passed since Mitsuru and Kokoro had visited Zorome and Miku. He had pitched his idea for the boarding school and had been very pleased to see that they were in full support of it. He was proud that he had come up with something that everyone enjoyed. He was indeed Zorome the Great after all!

Now, as Zorome ate some freshly-picked strawberries while sitting on the bed, he waited for Miku to get back from a walk she'd decided to take to get some fresh air. There wasn't much to do now that he'd finished his teacher-related tasks for the day and he was too lazy at the moment to want to go and play with his ball.

Not too long after he was finished munching on strawberries, Miku finally returned from her walk. She seemed like she was very zoned out and she didn't even look his way as she stepped into their tiny abode.

"Heya," Zorome greeted her, eyeing her curiously as she went straight to her bed and sat on the foot of it. "How'd your walk go?"

Miku's cheeks seemed to turn a darker shade of pink as she glanced at him. "O-oh, it was good, I guess! Nothing special." She seemed almost defensive and was way too flustered for her partner not to get suspicious.

"Wow, you're acting weird," Zorome commented. "What's up with that?"

Miku's cheeks began to turn even darker. "I-I was just thinking about some things, that's all?"

Zorome's eyebrow rose as he curiously stared at her. She was trying hard to keep her blue-green gaze from meeting his own. "Oh? What about?"

The redhead started to fidget nervously with the corner of her blanket. "Just...something."

"That's a stupid answer," Zorome observed. This caused her eyes to flash angrily and she finally whipped her head around to glare at him. Smirking, he crossed his arms and glared right back at her.

"That was a stupid comment you just made," Miku retorted as she bristled indignantly. "Anyway, why are you being so nosy all of a sudden? And stop looking so smug about that dumb comment!" She stood up and put her hands on her hips. Her fiery red hair glistened in the light of the sun's rays that filtered into the small home through the windows. Her hair really did suit her personality, especially now that she wore it out all the time. It was hard for Zorome to not ogle her and he tried to focus on the conversation instead.

"Are you gonna tell me what you're thinking about or not?" Zorome demanded.

To his surprise, Miku just sighed and let her hands rest limply at her sides. Her face seemed to flush darker. "I...guess I should talk to you about it."

Zorome blinked in surprise, completely taken aback by Miku's sudden change of mood. Curiosity and concern began to take over. "A-about what?"

Miku sighed and twirled her hair between her finger for a moment. Then she straightened up and looked Zorome in the eyes.

"I've been thinking about talking to you about having a baby."
