Miku

It had been sad to see her friends leave two days later but Miku knew they had to go. They had important lives now, lives that they'd chosen for themselves. Nobody would be able to control them.

And Miku was trying not to let Hyaku control her. She didn't want his fear to have such strength over her emotions but it was extremely hard for her to not let it consume her, to not let it overwhelm her.

She had been seeing the silver-haired boy a lot in her dreams since the attack, even during short catnaps during the day. However, she always felt immense waves of relief when she awoke to see Zorome, as well as when she saw her friends surrounding her during those last couple of days. She knew that with them around no other human being would be able to lay a finger on her.

But now, with only her and Zorome behind, her paranoia was beginning to grow stronger again. She knew it was silly to think Hyaku would somehow appear and she was sure that the people guarding him for quite competent enough to keep him in his place. However, it was hard for her to feel safe due to the nightmares she'd been having. She despised that he'd managed to scare her that much. She hoped she'd get a chance to smack Hyaku in the face, at least, to let him know exactly how she felt about what he'd done, what he had tried to do to her. She would never let him see that he'd scared her deep to her very core. Never!

"How long do you think it'll take for those bruises to heal?" Asked Zorome, who was drawing something in a notebook that he'd been specifically told not to draw in because it had been given to them for planning out their school. "They look pretty bad still."

"Eh," Miku shrugged. "They don't really hurt anymore. I'm hoping that they'll be gone before the trial."

The trial was in three days now. The thought made her feel uneasy. She didn't want to say so out loud but she didn't think she'd be comfortable looking Hyaku in his crazed eyes even knowing he was detained. What if he'd manipulated the guards or had some other trick up his sleeve? She knew she was silly for having those thoughts but that was what paranoia was known to do to a person. She was sure anyone would be paranoid if they were in her position, especially if someone they'd trusted had literally tried to murder her by dragging her to the beach and attempting to drown her. She still found it utterly terrifying to think that he'd nearly succeeded.

Zorome

Zorome was glad to see that Miku's recovery was going smoothly. Her injuries had been minor, though they'd still been worse than his despite him having been in a brawl with the guy that had tried to end her life. He was lucky to have only gotten a couple of scrapes and bruises out of it. On the inside, he was adamant that she would be fully healed in time for the trial. He wanted to help her prepare for it but found it to be incredibly awkward to initiate a conversation about something so serious when they were just idly chilling and doing their own thing.

He recalled what Jasper had said about her having mental damage as well. He wondered how Miku felt on the inside and how much she was telling him. Was there anything she was hiding from him? He was certain she was being quiet about the things that were bothering her most. But he would never know for sure if she didn't open up, meaning he also had no way to be able to help her. The thought made his heart sink. He just wanted her to be okay. He wanted to know she was okay. He also wanted her to feel like she could tell him when something was wrong.

"So, wanna go for a walk or something?" Zorome asked, beginning to feel endlessly bored of their home. There was only so much to do in such a tiny place. Miku had already scolded him for picking up his ball and trying to do tricks and stuff with it, saying that she'd force him to sleep outside if he accidentally broke anything. Miku was still as fierce as ever and she was something to fear, that was for damn sure!

"Sure," Miku said, standing up and stretching her arms above her head. "I'm feeling a lot better so I was getting bored just sitting here anyway. Where do you wanna go?"

Zorome was going to suggest the beach...but he realized that wasn't the greatest idea and she would most definitely not want to go there after what had happened to her when she was there last. He did, however, want to go there with her many times in the future and could only hope and pray that she wouldn't be too traumatized to visit the beach forever. She seemed to be in a funk now and he also hoped she'd snap out of it once the trial was over. It was exhausting trying to have a conversation with her when she was quiet, though at times she'd still scolded him which showed him that there was hope she was getting better fast.

"Why don't we walk to the Meeting Centre and see if things are still decorated for the ceremony?" He offered. When she nodded, he shouted, "HECK YEAH!" And ran out of the house, though he made sure to keep a close eye on Miku, glancing behind him to make sure she could keep up with him as he quickly headed away from their house.
