Natsu P.O.V.

Lucy was still sleeping and as she slept her body began to morph. Like mine, I could see a gradient of yellow to red scales growing along her body. I could feel small nubs on her back where her wings would most likely appear. I didn't know she could get more beautiful, but it happened. It was about an hour later that she stopped staring at her arms. "Natsu, we need answers. I want to go find Levy."

"You don't need anyone else but me!" Why was she trying to have someone else in our lives?

"Please. Baby, I need to know what's happening. We need our friends." Her eyes were pleading with me. Friends? Faces began flashing in my mind, but they were too quick for me to get any real idea of what or who I was seeing.

"If you truly care for me then you will allow me to figure out what is happening. You trust me don't you?" Her words were full of emotion, and I could feel that she really needed this to happen but I was still unsure whether I could let anyone around her. Especially males. They may try to take her, and I know she doesn't like me killing people in front of her.

"I will allow it on a couple of conditions. One, that I must be by your side at all times. Two, that you need to have my scent all over you. Three, that no males can be within 10 feet, or I cannot guarantee that their heads will stay on their bodies." I could see that some of the conditions annoyed her based on her wide eyes and frown. Eventually, she breathed a sigh and I could see she was ready to agree to my terms.

"Normally I would fight with you on this, but I am just happy that you're trusting me enough to be around others." I frowned.

"Luce it's not you I don't trust it is everybody else. There are bad people in this world, and I don't want anything to happen to you. You are everything to me." I brought her in my arms and hugged her tightly, so she'd get my point.

She pulled out of my embrace looked me in the eyes and proceeded to smack me in the face.

"Natsu. Snap out of it I can protect myself. You can't protect me from the entire world. There will always be something that can hurt me, but I determine how long it will hurt. I have you and our friends that will keep me going. So do not be so selfish in making all your happiness depend on me. I am only a piece but you yourself need to be able to make you happy." She was breathing heavily while giving me the cutest angry face. I could only stare with my mouth open not sure what to say to that. The slap hadn't hurt at all if anything it was her words that struck harder. My brain worked hard to come up with anything to answer that speech. Unfortunately, all that popped out of my mouth was "Ok".

Seeing that she wasn't going to get any other answer from me she huffed and walked deeper in the cave where she could get a small amount of privacy. I would have followed her but even my dragon brain knew that was a bad idea.

Lucy P.O.V.

That dummy thinks that I am so weak that I can't protect myself at all without him around. Pacing back and forth between each side of the cave I start thinking of my new bodily changes. Though I do admit the smooth gold and red scales were beautiful I couldn't help but wonder what was going on. This must be because of the mating between me and Natsu but is this permanent? Does it mean anything specific? Leaning on the cave wall I noticed an uncomfortable sensation. Reaching my arm back I felt nub-like things on my back. Are those freaking wings?!? It would be cool to fly but seriously what is happening?
