I ran outside and jumped on my bike. NiMi was trying to fix my hair.

"Can you stop? I don't have time to fix my hair I just gotta go!"

"Nicki this is the biggest day of your life and your gonna look like a rag doll? Not on my watch." NiMi said while patting my head. "I understand what you are trying to do but I'm black! That means if I have to do my hair I would need 2 hours in advance. So just leave it."I said now annoyed "okay" NiMi said with a smile. "You can come and watch if you want. But I don't think this is a date so..."i said as NiMi cut me off. "I don't care I'm coming and I will sit at the back of the juice bar"

We rode our bikes to the bar. And as we parked them we saw Caleb walking around the exit. I quickly jumped off my bike and ran to the front door. My hair was a mess after NiMi tried to "fix" it. I looked like a "white girl wanna be" with all the clothes NiMi picked out for me. And I think my bike is breaking because my chain keeps falling off and I would sometime go downward and not know how to stop. I just looked like a hot mess.

As I walked into the bar I saw Caleb standing there waiting for me "I am so sorry I'm late!" I said running to him "it's alright I was just getting here as well" I knew that was a lie, I can tell when he is lying and he has been waiting before i got there.

as we walk inside I was wondering what he wanted to talk to me about. as i built up the courage to ask he started talking "so, i guess your wondering why i called you here." he said with a smile. i looked behind me and saw NiMi dying of laughter as i gave her a puzzled look. "uh... kinda. but i guess its cool considering your new and all." i said kinda weird. he looked at my face and even though i'm black he could tell my face was going red. he silently laughed and said "don't worry i'm not a rapist or anything" i smiled "good cuz i thought that white van in the parking lot was yours". we both started cracking up. "anyway..." Caleb started again " i called you here to see if i can trust you, even though we just met and all i just kinda want someone i can trust before this relationship can continue". i was speechless, i looked at him like i was just shot in the lungs, all the color drained out of my face. "um.. i mean friendship, ha i didn't mean it like that." he looked embarrassed. at that point i was done, i wanted to roll on the floor and die of laughter. he could tell i was dying inside "yea okay i get what you are saying and of course you can trust me we are friends". i said while laughing my butt off. Caleb looked relieved. "well can i have your number? i really don't like coming over and asking your mom to give you a note every time i wanna meet up." he sounded so nervous, it was cute. "of course i said while handing a piece of paper that i found in my pocket with my number in it . "here, use it wisely now." i checked the time, "oh shoot i gotta go, text me later okay?" ''alright see ya at school tomorrow Nicki"

i met up with NiMi at the back of the bar "soooooo how did it go?" "i think i'm in love" i said sarcastically
as i punched her in the arm . we walked out and hopped onto our bikes.

as i got home i saw my older sister sitting on the porch shaking her head. "what?" i said annoyed. "oh, nothing you know just your first date and all." she said as she cracked a smile and looked back down to her book. "whatever" i said walking past her and going into the house guess who i see next looking at me in curiosity, my mother "yes?" i said looking at her "you never told me about a boy." she raised an eyebrow. "oh my gosh mom, he is a new boy yo the school and i showed him around, he just wanted to know if he could trust me." i was about to walk away "okay, but next time just tell me that you met a boy before he comes to my front door asking to see you," she laughed. i don't even know why, nothing was funny. "fine ill let you know" i say walking up the stairs. sometimes i think it takes forever just to get into my room.
