I walked to school nervously. I made my choice yesterday night but what if I made the wrong choice? What if it doesn't suit me? What if I fail? And worst of all, what if they find out in divergent? I tried not to think about it by blasting music from my phone into my head.
As I got to the front of the school I heard a familiar voice. I turned around to see my cousin Leo " hey Leo!" I said with confusion "why are you here" " oh you know, I am volunteering to do the choosing ceremony, I think this year is going to be fantastic!" Leo was in erudite and he loved it. "Oh" I said " I actually just started at this school and so I'm choosing today as well" I said "that's awesome! You are going to have a fun time! Leo said as we walked into the school. "Hopefully" I said under my breath.
As we walked inside the P.A system began to speak. Our principle called all factions to the gym. I had to wear all white because I haven't claimed any faction yet.
My heart was beating faster than ever. As I walked down the hall I could see everyone smiling an giving the unchosen high fives. Suddenly, everything went in slow motion, and all I could hear was my heart beating in my ears.
Next thing I know I'm in the gym waiting for my name to be called. "Jackson Thompson, Lily McCrandle," the principle called "now for the new comers," Oh lord. I am shaking in my chair at this point. I swear I almost chized my pants. "Celeb Davis" The principle just called my name. I try to get up but my legs are weak. Oh gosh.
I finally get out o my seat and step down the stairs. I make it to the end and I see five bowls. A blue bowl (erudite),a red bowl (dauntless), a black and white bowl (candor),a grey bowl (abnegation), and a yellow and red bowl (amity).The principle hands me the blade and I slowly slice my hand. I look at the bowls for a little bit as a pool of blood starts for form in my palm. I look back to see Nicki mouthing not to be afraid. Then I make my choice. I hold my hand over the red bowl and the blood drops. The crowd of dauntless kids scream but all I could see was Niki's smiling face. "You made the right choice" she told me as I sat down.
