It was another normal day for Akaashi Keiji. The skies were bright. The sun is up and even the birds were chirping around.
He was sitting in his chair drawing a few chapters for his manga until his boss had called him. That's when the day started to be extraordinary for the introverted man.
His boss' daughter had a birthday party today. Naturally, he got invited especially since he was quite famous in their company. After all, one of his manga work is famous for being one of the best selling shonen mangas in Japan.
So then he was forced to come to the party so that he wouldn't get a bad image to his boss. But when he came there he expected a normal seven years' old girls party. You know, pink designs, a princess dress, and a buffet of food.
But instead he was faced with a farm and military mixed party. There was a coop of chicken, a place for pigs, and even cows and sheeps. Plus of course, a military battle field and children pointing toy guns at each other.
Don't get him wrong. He's not against the idea because girls are suppose to be all girly and pink like people. He's just shocked especially when the the turkeys got out. One of his co-workers provoked the turkeys causing them to chase them. While his co-workers got into high ground, he was stuck running around in a circle being chased by an angry mob of turkeys since he was too much in panic to think.
"Help! Help me!" he shouted now a bit scared because he's never dealt with such a situation where he have to run for his life and avoid being pecked by turkeys.
He thought today he can just come home and have a delicious dinner then watch a few anime episodes before drawing his manga again. But, no! The world just has to curse him.
'What have I ever done to deserve this?' He thought.
The children were crying and being consoled by their parents so most of the parents couldn't help him and his co-workers were too selfish to come down or in anyway help him.
'Traitors.'
He felt like he was running a marathon when someone had arrived to help him.
It was the same stranger two weeks ago from that pool party he attended. His owl-like hair was spiked and he was wearing a farmer's custome.
How he thought he can finally rest from all the running. But instead, the stranger who tried to help him ever-so clinged onto him for the dead end wall in front of them and the mob of turkeys running behind them.
"Shit! We're gonna die!" the stranger shouted.
That's when Akaashi knew he just have to act the bigger person. He decided to finally use his head and stop fear from crawling his veins.
He saw a ladder near by and pulled the stranger so they can both climb to the roof. Together they jumped forward to another roof and to another until they were far away from the mob of angry turkeys.
"Argh, I'm saved!" The owl like man said and hugged Akaashi. "Why didn't we try that in the first place before running and screaming?"
Akaashi felt uncomfortable with the hug but the stranger was physically stronger than him so he couldn't remove his hands from himself. The man seemed to notice this so he removed his hands from Akaashi.
"Heh, sorry!" He rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly before smiling.
"It's fine...I didn't do that at first because...there wasn't a ladder...and I was...scared," Akaashi mumbled.
"Ehh? You look like a calm person. Wouldn't think you'd get scared." The human owl tilted his head looking straight into Akaashi's eyes.
Akaashi being an introverted person didn't like eye contact and moved his head to the left to avoid the stranger's eye contact.
"I-I'm calm when I'm alone or with someone I'm...comfortable with."
"Huh? Comfortable? Eyyy?! Am I making you uncomfortable?" The stranger had a horrified face and it didn't help when Akaashi had replied yes.
A dark cloud seemed to have formed on the stranger's head and he hung his head low, sulking.
"B-but...it's not your fault. It's mine...for not being comfortable with strangers," Akaashi stated.
The man looked up to Akaashi now avoiding his eyes to not make the man uncomfortable. "Still, sorry and as to not become a stranger...I'll introduce myself."
"Ohh, a-alright. I'm Akaashi Keiji."
"I'm Bo-" the stranger didn't get to finish introducing himself because he tripped in the roof 'causing him to slide down.
"Ahh!" he screamed.
Luckily, he didn't get injured. Years of playing volleyball taught him how to break his fall. But unfortunately, the turkeys saw him. Their eyes seemed to glow red and it was like they were glaring the stranger.
And...
They chased him. Out of fear, he ran forward forgetting his companion and going straight to the area where the party is held.
Shouts of fear and things falling came from the party's direction and the chaos continued from thereon.
"Too bad I didn't get his name again. May be I will in the party," Akaashi muttered to himself.
He was contemplating how to get down and decided to come back to the roof where the ladder was by jumping. Sure, he could've just jumped down since he's doing it now but he wanted to get away from the party anyway and the ladder just sounds safer to him than jumping down from a two-storey building.
He barely managed to get to the next roof from the other so how was he suppose to survive jumping down? He was even amazed at the fact the stranger didn't get any injury. Seemed like a miracle to him but may be it's because the man is athletic as he did say from last time that he was a volleyball player.
Wait, that's it! Akaashi can look for him in the internet. He sounded like he was famous for the game anyways. But, what is his team? If Akaashi doesn't know, it would be too much research and he's already so busy. Wait, he's overthinking again.
Also would that be creepy? It feels like it would be stalking. Is it stalking?
"Agh!" Akaashi groaned in frustration. He's getting stressed from all this overthinking. And over some stranger! Like really? That doesn't sound like him.
Once he reached the roof with the ladder he came down from the roof and came back to the party.
The food was every where. The decorations were destroyed and all the other animals that got out before were put back in their certain areas.
So yeah, the party's ruined. He should be celebrating but he's disappointed. He found out that the stranger from before had already left after paying for the damage since he had volleyball pratice.
So much for taking his sweet time. He shouldn't have done that. May be he could've reached the stranger owl of hadn't done that. But, what's done is done. He didn't get the stranger's name and he was faced with the problem of having to help clean up the party because his boss asked for the favor and of course, courtesy.
He sighed.
'What another eventful day. Can I not have a normal day?'
And so the birthday experience ended with sweeping, taking out trashes, and wiping babies faces along with combing their hairs.
'I'm never going to a kid's party again.'
