The Blind Date Part II
"I'm glad you made it. I hope you don't mind me picking out your dress and shoes. I hope you don't think I was being too forward."
Allen helped her out of the limo. He looked amazing in his black button-down shirt and matching slacks. He was finer than she remembered. He kissed the back of her hand.
"How did you know my size?"
"I guessed." He smiled. "It looks like it's a perfect fit. I have a special evening planned for us."
"You've done so much already. I don't think there's anything you can do to top yourself." She looked into his gorgeous green eyes. "I've been driving myself crazy, wondering what you've planned for us." Niyah turned and looked at his house. "This place is huge. I can fit my whole neighborhood in your front yard. Do you stay here alone?"
"Yes." He smiled.
"How do you stay in this big house all alone?"
"I have a stable full of horses. I have four runners to ride through the woods when my boys stop by. There's a lake a few miles away. My grandfather and I do a lot of fishing there. Besides, I'm busy most of the time. I'm out of the country a lot."
"This place is amazing."
Everything was perfect. The lawn was nice and green. The bushes were trimmed. The flowers that surrounded the landscape were magnificent.
"Would you like a tour of my estate?"
"Yes."
He put his arm in hers and they began walking.
"Tell me about yourself. I'm sure Emonie has told you all of my business. I don't know anything about you. What's your favorite color? What type of movies do you enjoy? What type of music do you listen to? What's the name of the last four good books you've read?"
He laughed.
"Blue, action and R&B. I've read the entire series of books The Vampire Huntress by L.A. Banks, Candy Licker and Thong on Fire by Noire. Black Door and Betrayal by Velvet." His laughter continued. "You don't waste any time."
"Life is too short. Why isn't a fine ass man like you married?" She grabbed her mouth. "Oh! I didn't mean to say it out loud."
"It's okay. My fiancée left me for someone I thought was my friend. I was wrong. That was the last relationship I was in. The last few years, I've been working. I don't have time to date. To tell you the truth, there wasn't anyone I wanted to date. That was, until I saw this gorgeous woman standing in my lobby." He flashed his flawless smile. Niyah hadn't noticed they were in the middle of a rose garden. Allen walked over to one of the rose bushes. "Come here. You have to smell this." She walked over the well-kept grass to him. Allen picked a rose and held it up to her nose.
He stuck the blossoming red roses behind her left ear.
"Let me see if I can remember the story." He cleared his throat. His deep sexy voice sent chills down her spine with every word he spoke. "A woman with the flower on the right side of her hair is single. If she has it in the left, she's taken."
"I'm single." She looked into his eyes.
"For now."
With the tips of his fingers, he pushed some hair out of her face. Allen put her arm back in his as he held her soft hand. They continued to walk. This time, they both were quiet. As she enjoyed the beautiful scenery, Niyah felt as if she was floating on air.
"We're here."
They stood at the entrance of a big white stable.
Twelve horses were on each side. He led her inside and walked over to a marvelous black stallion. This magnificent creature in front of her amazed Niyah. Allen opened the stall and went inside.
"Come here. I want you to meet Osiris." He patted him on his neck. "I've had him ever since I was a boy."
"Is it okay for me to touch him?"
Allen walked over to a bucket, reached inside, and grabbed a handful of oats.
"Feed him these." He took her hand and poured the oats into them.
"Hello, Osiris. You're beautiful." She put her hand under his mouth and rubbed the side of his head, as Allen watched.
"You know, animals have a sixth sense about people. From the looks of it, he likes you. That says a lot, because he never lets anyone touch him - sometimes, not even me."
"He seems like a sweetheart."
"Do you ride?"
"No, it seems like fun, though."
Allen pulled Osiris out of the stall and mounted him. He looked handsome, dressed all in black on his big black stallion.
"Well, are you coming?" He held his hand out for her.
"Are you serious? I don't know anything about riding a horse."
"Don't worry. I won't let anything happen to you." She walked over to them. Niyah took his hand and he helped her on. "Put your legs around me. Next time, I'll teach you how to ride side saddle. Hold on tight."
She wrapped her arms around his waist as they rode Osiris right out of the stable. As they galloped into the woods, she felt his six-pack. It wasn't hard to tell he worked out every day. His arms were huge. As her head rested on his shoulder, his intoxicating cologne filled her nose.
I must be dreaming. Maybe there could be something to him. Where is he taking me?
"Why are you so quiet?"
"I've never done this before."
"Do you think this is something you'd like to do again? I could give you riding lessons if you want. Maybe you could ride by yourself, next time." They continued through the forest. "Or we could stick with what we know."
"I would love for you to teach me how to ride. Next time, you can hold on to me."
"You've read my mind."
"Where are we going now?"
"We're here. This is it."
He jumped down off Osiris and helped her down. They were in the middle of the woods. The smell of flowers filled the air. Niyah looked down at the ground. She was standing in a field of purple wildflowers. Next to the field was an enormous lake. Allen walked over to a small rowboat that sat on the bank.
"Come on, let me help you in." He held out his hand to her.
"Are you always the perfect gentleman?" Niyah walked over to the edge of the lake and took his hand. "I thought you said we were here." She had a seat.
"We are, but our food is out there."
He pointed to a raft in the middle of the lake and didn't say another word.
