CHAPTER 4

I quickly got in the tube again. I sighed as I closed my eyes. I felt the light fade and I felt the link begin.

We were in the plane now, we quickly passed these cool looking birds. Once we finally began to land we were in the forest.

"Shut it down, we're gonna stay a while." Said grace, I saw jake pointing his gun everywhere.

"Calm down, before you poke someone's eyes out." I said as he almost hit me in the face with it.

"Norm! Your pack." Grace said to him.

"Pack!" Norm said as he realized he forgot it, I rolled my eyes. I was a little moody, today I just wanted chocolate.

"Stay with the ship. One idiot with a gun is enough." Grace said to the bald man. She hadn't even glanced at me today. That was pissing me off so I was gonna do something that would piss her off.

As we began walking I began to openly flirt with Norm, like the little puppy he is he just got flustered and couldn't hold eye contact.

"Are you from Tennessee because you're the only ten I see" I said winking at him. Not that norm wasn't attractive I just didn't think he liked me back but from how he's reacting he might like me. As I continue to flirt with Norm I saw Grace grow more annoyed.

"What's wrong sweetheart you look a little mad?" I whispered in her ears as I smirked. She just ignored me, which made me smirk even more.

I bout had a heart attack as I heard some kind of creature making noises.

"Prolemuris. They're not aggressive." Grace said as she looked at jake to try and him to calm down and out his gun lower.

"Relax, marine. You're making me nervous." Grace said. I scoped out the surroundings. All kinds of colors and wildlife around us. It reminded me of earth before they trashed it.

"So how will they know we're here?" Norm said speaking up for the first time in a while.

"I'm sure they're watching us right now." Grace stated.

"Keep moving, Norm"

"Keep up, guys!"

"And here I go" Grace said as she put the needle in the trees root.

"Scanning."

"Oh, wow! It's that fast?" Grace let out a laugh which made me smile a little.

"Amazing, isn't it?" She said happily. A large smile on her face.

"Just like you" I whispered in her ears, her skin went from blue to purple in a matter of seconds.

"So, that is signal transduction from this root to the root of the tree next to it." Grace stated. Her smile becoming larger as she spoke. She looked so beautiful in that moment it made me want to make her smile forever.

"So we should take a sample." Grace stated once more.

"Okay. Sample." Norm said back mostly to himself. I smiled at grace and she gave me a small smile back.

"You outshine even the brightest stars"
I whispered to her. I noticed Norm beginning to get jealous so I quickly looked at him and gave him a kiss on the cheek.

In that moment I realized I was not only attracted to one of them but of them. Trudy, jake, Grace, Norm, and Max. I either had an issue or I was crazy so both probably. Speaking of jake where is he?

"Jake?" I called out. I quickly grew worried even if o had only known for a little I felt like I had known him my whole life.

I quickly got up and began to walk in the direction where I heard a noise come from. I saw jake and a thanator facing it off.

"Don't shoot. Don't shoot. You'll piss him off." Grace said to jake. It quickly began to bang it head in the trees beside it. It was definitely already pissed off.

"It's already pissed off."

"Jake that armor is too thick." Grace continued, "trust me." "It's a territorial threat display. Do not run or he will charge"

"So what do I do, dance with it?" Jake said.

"No, stupid, stay right there." I said rolling my eyes.

"Just hold your ground." Grace stated. It continued to growl and move its feet up and down the dirt. Not long after it began to charge. My eyes widened and my tail began to sway wildly.

I quickly ran towards jake and pushed him out the way. It quickly stopped, I was confused at first then I heard a snarl.

"Oh shit" exclaimed Jake. He was off the floor of the forest by now.

"So what about this one run don't run, what?" Jake said as he pointed his gun at the dark cat like figure. It quickly turned and snarled at us.

"Run! Definitely run!" Grace shouted. As soon as those words came out of her mouth Jake and I dashed.

Quickly going in between trees and logs to get away. It skimmed jake a couple times. We quickly dived between tree roots. The creature trying to kill us as fast as it could. As jake started shooting it didn't continue very long as the animal took his gun which made me cringe.

As we took off I quickly stopped as it got jake's backpack.

"Unclip it!" I shouted to him. That definitely made it more pissed as we took off. I didn't see it coming so I just jumped off the cliff.

I could feel my light flash before my eyes as I dived into the murky depths.
