At the garage Walter picks up the ringing phone. "Hello?" He answers annoyed.

"Hey Walt, it's Paige." As soon as he heard her voice Walter perks up, and straightens his posture while leaning against his desk. Then he relaxes his muscles slowly, unsure of why her voice had such an effect on him. She continues, "I can't come into work today." After the sentence was spoken Walter feels a sudden disappointment feeling in his gut, so he sighs being once again annoyed by all these odd emotions created by Paige.

He clears his throat to distract himself and says "Why? Is everything okay?" If he was talking to anyone else he would have ended the conversation before he said anything else. Small talk is unnecessary and inefficient, but with Paige he can't help but try and keep the conversation going as long as possible.

"Yeah, everything's is fine. Drew just is causing some drama with Ralph and I want to clear everything up before he leaves for Portland." Paige says obviously annoyed. Walter can almost imagine her rolling her eyes while explaining the situation.

Walter smiles at the thought. "Ok clear everything up. Have an effective day Paige."

A small echo of laughter comes from the phone, "Thanks Walter, have an effective day too."

"I will." He replies automatically "Goodbye Paige." He says softly. Walter pulled the phone away from his ear and was about to end the call when he hears Paige's chuckle of laughter from through the phone, she must not have realized that she didn't hang up the phone.

"Have an effective day Paige," She mimicked in a lower voice which he assumed was being used to imitate his voice. "Never change Walter, never change." She says in her own voice and she begins laughing again.

With that Walter smiled and hung up the phone.
