(P.S I know it's confusing how this chapter is titled the same as the last one but this time it's following Walter and Paige, not Happy and Toby like the last chapter)
(P.p.s I'm sorry I haven't been updating but I hope this makes up for it!!)
(P.p.ps I really suck.. I know... I will try and not take forever to update again)

Walter slowly walks in the door way and in one swift motion shuts the door behind him. And after shakily inhaling one deep breath takes in the sight of Paige's large bedroom. His eyes dart around the cozy and comforting space, finally mustering up the courage to look at the figure in front of him. A almost weak and fragile looking Paige looks up at Walter with her puffy eyes and tears stained face.

"H-hi." Walter stammers, suddenly at a loss for words. He was not expecting this, Paige was one of the strongest people he knew.

"Hi." Paige replies weakly looking away.

"I-I.. Umm-Ralph.. Uh." He clears his throat awkwardly. "Paige I'm so sorry." Walter has to concentrate to keep his normally steady voice from sounding shaky.

"Can we not talk about this right now Walter. Please?" Paige asks desperately finally meeting his gaze.

"Umm-yeah.." Walter replies, not wanting to push, but not sure want else to do. So he just sheepishly glances away and stares at his feet.

"Thank you." She sniffles and wipes her face. Then she takes a seat with her back against the door, crossing her legs beneath her.

Walter hesitates for a moment, then follows her lead, sitting down with his knees bent in front of him, then he drapes his arms over his legs.

They both sit like that for a long moment, almost taking turns glancing at the other and then back down at the floor. Until after sitting on the hardwood floor for a few minutes, they both shift to get into a more comfortable position. Their shoulders brush and a breath hitches in Walter throat. But after a deep breath Walter relaxes into the position, and to his surprise Paige doesn't pull away, in fact she rest her head on his shoulder blade, and takes in his sweet and comforting scent. He smells like rocket oil and that familiar scent the garage always has.

"I should have never gotten you involved." Paige states pulling away reluctantly.

"Huh?" Walter asks shocked, turning toward her.

"I was an idiot, and I was scared, and I-I...." She has to take a deep breath and clench her fist to stop herself breaking down.

"Hey-hey... It's okay." Walter takes his arms from around his legs and awkwardly holds them to the side of him trying to maybe embrace Paige in a comforting way. Then he thinks better of it because he really has no idea how to comfort someone.

"No Walter I'm so sorry. I really didn't mean to get you involved." She sniffles and wipes her wet cheeks. "I don't want you to feel guilty about what happened. It's my fault I should have been able to handle it by myself." Paige hangs her head low in disappointment.

"Whatever happens, know that all of this is not your fault Paige. You can't feel guilty about anything either." He stares at the side of her head pleading for her to me his eyes. She finally meets his intense brown eyes and holds his gaze. They sit like that for what feels like forever, just processing the day and taking comfort in the presence of each other. Both unsure of what to do next.

Finally Walter whispers, "This was out of your control." Not breaking eye contact almost willing her to understand him.

But of course she does not.

"I-I should have been able to protect him." She looks away, fresh tears rolling down her cheeks.

Walter tensed as a wave of anger spread over him and soon he could feel it in his toes. "He cheated!" Walter growled in a low voice trying not to let his temper get the best of him. The last thing he needed was to start shouting at Paige in this state.

"What are you talking about." She says in a hushed voice. She quick wipes her face with her hands then turns back towards him. Walter throat get tight as he notices the tears running down her palms.

"He should not have won. He didn't play fair. He cheated." He says through gritted teeth.

Walter has always hated people like Drew. "Pretty Boys" that just take whatever they want. Now he's just taking what ever he wants to try and make up for his mistakes. He had his chance with Paige, to be a father, to be a happy family. He wasted it.

It scared Walter how much he wished he had gotten that chance with Paige. He knew for a fact that he would not have wasted it.

He looks at Paige with all the frustration these past months have bought. He never expected any of this to happen. He would have thought by now he would be in another "Crash and Burn" relationship with someone who he didn't even care for.

Instead he cares about someone so deeply it aches. His greatest fear now is screwing it up like he always does. But he just can't handle losing his entire world today. He has to do something. He will not let her do this by herself. Drew won a battle, but he will win the war.

Walter swiftly gets up off of the dusty wood floor. His hands are shaking and his gut wrenching but he has never been more sure of anything in his life.

Paige looks shocked at the sudden movement. "Walter?" She asks concerned. Her whole world crashed down today and she still is worried about him. That is the closest thing to love Walter has felt in a long time.

He doesn't give her an answer, just offers the frail women before him a shaking hand. She reluctantly accepts and stands with difficulty, legs shaking to badly.

She wipes her hands on her pants and asks again, "Walter what is it?" Uncertainty evident in every word.

"I'm going to get Ralph back for you." Walter says determined.

Paige's face drops and she begins to break down again, "W-Waalter, you can't do that.... H-h-he won.... Ralph has to stay with him." Tears start falling again.

Walter stands there blankly his mind sabotaging this body. He can't move. He takes a deep breath and surprises himself. He doesn't find an exit, or hide from the emotion in front of him. Instead he embraces it in his arms. He holds her tight, taking her in. She nuzzles her face in the crook of his shoulder and crys softly into his t-shirt.

He runs his hands down her hair and whispers "Paige I have always tried to keep you safe. This is no exception." She sniffles and pulls away slightly. But stays close enough that he can still hold her. "There is nothing we can do." She admits in a broken voice.

He stared into her full doe eyes and says "I will find a way." Then he slowly presses his lips to her forehead before his common sense kicks in.

Against her skin he mumbles "I will bring him home to you."
