Walter slams on the brakes as he and Toby approach Paige's house. "Slow down Walter!" Toby yells.
"Hey, I said you could come it you could keep up." Walter states.
"Well I signed up to keep up with you, not die in some horrific car crash because you are speeding."
"Whatever." Walter replies not taking his eyes off the road. The car violently swings in to Paige's driveway and even before the car has stopped moving completely Walter leaps from it, leaving the keys in the ignition.
Toby sighs as he reaches over to take out the keys, "And Walter says he has no feelings." But Toby can't help but smile because he knew that Walter fell for her from the beginning.
When Walter gets to the door he knocks rapidly and calls for Paige to let him in. But instead a very depressed looking Sylvester opens the heavy oak door.
"Hey Sly, where Paige I need to talk to her!?" Walter asks stepping in the house and scanning the room for her.
"That may be problematic."
"What? Why?"
"Because she has locked herself in her bedroom for about an hour now." Sylvester says.
"Then just have Happy pick the lock." Walter states like that the obvious solution.
"I was going to try that but I think she would become pretty pissed. Right now,
she seem like she needs some alone time." Happy says from the living room couch."Yeah Walter... I think it's best to just leave her alone for a while." Cabe adds from across the room.
"No you guys don't understand, I have to talk to her... I have to see her." Walters says.
Toby finally steps into the living room and flashes Walter a smile.
"You gotta do what you gotta do Walter. You can do this." Toby says his big brown eyes full of confidence.
"Ok." Walter says and with one more sideways glance at a confident Toby for reassurance he walks down the hallway and rests his forehead against Paige's door.
"Paige... Please open the door" Walter calls softly so that no one in the living room can hear him.
"Walter? Is that you." Paige replies from the other side of the door, her voice sounding thick and scratchy. She must've been crying.
"Yeah it's me. Can I come in?"
"No... I'm a mess... I can't do this right now... Why won't all of you just leave me alone?!?" She says it angrily but still almost a whisper. And to Walter a whisper seems worse then a shout. Someone can get over anger, but she's seems as if she doesn't even have the energy to raise her voice. She's heartbroken. Being heart broken is much worse than being angry.
"We're here because we care," Walter glances slightly over his shoulder to make sure no one care hear him. Then he makes his voice even quieter as he adds. "Because I care."
He says the last part so quietly that he is not even sure if she heard it. But she did alright. And from the other side of the door Paige gets that very familiar feeling in her stomach, the nervous butterflies that Walter creates.
For a long time the two of them just stay silent from their different sides of the door and listen to the sound of each other breathe.
Then Walter breaks that silence as he softly and sweetly asks, "So Paige am I allowed to come in yet?"
"Fine." She whispers back plainly as she wipes away the stray tears falling down her cheeks and attempts to fix her messed up hair.
She slowly gets up from the spot where she was sitting in front of her door and unlocks the lock. Walter sucks in a deep breath as the lock gets flipped open and after a moment of hesitation slowly turns the medal door knob.
