"Oh sorry", Harry apologized to the person he bumped into only to be met with a pair of blue eyes. "Louis". The shorter boy smiled fixing his beanie, "Harry".
"Look at you in your celebrity disguise", Louis teased pointing at the black sunglasses Harry was wearing. Harry laughed, "I'm not disguising myself, it's sunny. And I'm not a celebrity".
Louis laughed this time, "Sure, being all over social media and having millions of people wondering about you isn't being a celebrity".
Harry furrowed his eyebrows, "I'm all over social media?", Louis shook his head but showed him his Instagram explore page which were all pictures of Harry at the listening party and then on Twitter which were accounts trying to link stuff to Harry to get to know him.
"You're everywhere, I'm surprised you're still talking to me", Louis commented scrolling on his phone. "Why wouldn't I talk to you?", Harry knew what Louis meant but he wanted Louis to realize that what he said was bullshit. Harry wouldn't stop speaking to Louis because of media, he'd rather die if that was the case.
"Don't know, because we're strangers?", Harry shook his head, pulling Louis along with him as they walked side by side. "Are we strangers?". Louis looked up at him, his blue eyes shinning with the sun. "Sometimes", Louis chuckled. "That makes no sense".
"We aren't strangers Lou and I'd never stop talking to you".
They entered a market, Harry pulled Louis along without asking but Louis never backed away so now the two of them were grocery shopping, Louis right behind rambling about whatever.
"Are you cooking for a family of eight?", Louis joked as he eyed the basket Harry was holding. "No, but hey I can invite friends over tonight and have a dinner. Wanna come?". Louis looked at him with a smile, "Yeah, sure".
They were interrupted when two girls came up to them and politely asked for a picture with Harry. It was weird but he agreed, after all apparently he made a big impression a few nights ago.
He noticed how they would eye Louis with confusion but were probably too scared to ask anything. "Thank you for that night, I love your song. It feels like a hug", one of the girls spoke up and Harry couldn't help but smile.
He hugged her tightly whispering words into her hair, he doesn't know where he got that confidence from but it felt right. The two girls left afterwards waving at Louis too.
"Still a celebrity to me", Louis joked grabbing Harry's wrist and pulling him to the checkout section.
They both went back to Harry's place, Louis situated himself on the couch flipping through the channels as Harry placed the ingredients on the counter and texted a few people. Those being Niall, Ed and Zayn. He decided they can bring others as well.
The sound of the television distracted him as he began cooking, the air quickly smelling like food and the kitchen warming up.
He liked cooking, every step of it. He's always been into it, helping his mum when he was younger and cooking for his sister whenever his mum was working late. It was fun even when he'd mess up and accidentally start a fire. After all that trouble, he never feared it and tried again. Always looking into new recipes and foods from other cultures.
His mum always commented about him starting a restaurant but he wasn't that obsessed with cooking, it never went that far. So he enjoyed the praises he got from his family and childhood friends.
There was a knock on the door, "Lou could you get that?", Harry spoke and heard as Louis responded by standing and getting the door. "Heeey!", he heard and recognized it as Niall's voice. "Oh am I at the wrong house?".
"No Niall, I'm here. That's Louis", Harry responded from the stove as he received a laugh from Niall, "Ah sorry, hi Louis, I'm Niall". Louis smiled, "As I've heard".
"I've brought cupcakes", Niall said placing them on the island, "So sweet of you", Harry responded with a snicker.
"Lewis is coming in five", the blonde said, this time from the couch. "Lewis?", Louis asked. Harry zoned out as Niall spoke about his friend and the way Louis would hum in acknowledgment.
This time Harry had to answer the door as the other two were too busy being in a conversation to pay attention to their surroundings. "Hi Lewis and Ed", Harry greeted. Niall cheered from the couch hugging the two new comers.
Harry decided he'd leave the door slightly open for the next guest, in hopes that Zayn actually comes. He said he'd be there but then again, he wasn't completely sure.
The food was almost done when the door opened revealing Zayn and another company behind him but Harry couldn't see well. "Hey Harry, brought muffins", Zayn said with a smile as he showed the box of muffins. "Thanks, put them there", Harry responded pointing to the island.
"Muffins?", Niall asked standing up. "I brought cupcakes", Zayn gave him an eye which screamed confusion to everyone in the room. "We practically got the same thing but... not really the same thing", Niall explained. "Muffins are better", Zayn pointed out and that was the beginning of war. "Wrong, cupcakes are better. They have cream!".
"Exactly why they're disgusting. The cream is overrated", Zayn replied back. "Stop shaming my cupcakes!", Niall said between fake sobs as he caressed the box of cupcakes. "Whatever", Zayn decided he'd leave the topic and introduce his company.
"This is Liam", he pointed to the taller figure behind and Harry recognized him to be the guy from university who laid on the grass. "You're THE Harry?", Liam asked with raised eyebrows. "That sounds aggressive, I'm just Harry".
The group laughed but Harry didn't understand why. "Anyways, food is done, sit around kids". After many comments later, they all sat around on the kitchen table, others deciding on the couch. Harry served the food, he felt like his mum and he wasn't sure if that felt good.
It sort of did, cooking something and being able to serve it to someone else did sparkle a good feeling in Harry but then again, it was kind of depressing. He felt like a single dad.
He sat next to Louis making sure his knee was also touching Louis' knee because that simple touch was all Harry needed to feel more at peace.
"Harry, would you be able to answer a yes or no question", Niall asked with a mouth full. "I suppose so".
"Can you be my personal cook?".
"No".
Niall glared at him but brushed it off.
Harry kept glancing over to Louis who returned it by smiling at him so softly, it made Harry want to risk it all and kiss him right there. Even with a mouth full.
"Gonna get a muffin", Liam excused himself as he stood up. "No! Get a cupcake!", Niall exclaimed causing the rest to laugh. Liam rolled his eyes and grabbed a muffin and a cupcake just for Niall's sake.
The evening was nice spending it with close friends. Harry has never had a full house like this, ever since he moved out at least. It's always been him or him and his partner. But now he has more people to spend the time with.
Harry cleaned the dishes and Louis cleaned the counters even after Harry protested but he didn't mind, Louis was closer to him as the rest of the group was in the living room chatting quietly as they watched television.
"I like your friends", Louis commented with a smile placing the cloth he was using in the sink.
"I like you", Harry blurted out.
