"Come on Don. We don't have all day. Brandon is waiting for us at home," Cynthia said. Cynthia and Don were husband and wife. Their son was Brandon, the paralyzed kid in the first story. He was waiting at home while their parents hiked on the trail in Oregon. "Coming honey," Don called out to his wife. As they were walking, they saw a giant hump on the ground covered in leaves. "Wow," Cynthia said. "I am going to dig it out. It could be something valuable." "Be careful," her husband Don warned. The greedy for money Cynthia knelt down and dug. Can you guess what happens next? Well she found the crystal ball but remember, it is filled with new secrets. She pulled the crystal ball out and held it in her hand. An image of two boys appeared. But before the crystal ball could finish showing her the events of the year before, Cynthia picked it up and said to her husband "Don, let's go back. I have a feeling that this crystal ball like thing is valuable. It could have been from a hundred years ago. Maybe even more. If we sell it, we will be rich." Don, of course, did not agree. But he knew his greedy wife and knew that after Brandon's accident all she cared about was providing for the family...and money. So he agreed. They both turned back and drove to the nearest antique shop. Don waited in the car while Cynthia rushed to the little shop. She threw open the door like she was a crazy announcer who was going to say that the world was going to end. She saw a little man behind a counter. There was a sign on the counter that said 'we sell and we buy'. Cynthia called out to the man. "You there. You there," she said out of breath. She placed the crystal ball carefully on the counter. "How much?," she asked. The man examined it thoroughly. "Well," he said in a hoarse voice. "I would give you anything you want for this. It is a beauty." He did not take his eye off of the crystal ball. What Cynthia did not know was that the man was secretly a bad guy who was waiting to get his hands on the crystal ball. He wanted to wishthat he was the ruler of the world and that he could control people's minds. Also, Cynthia did not know that whoever touches the crystal ball first, will always be followed by it. "Give me one hundred....no two hundred....no one million dollars," Cynthia said eagerly. Her eyes had gone wild when the man started to pull out bills of hundred. The money piled up. "There you go," he started. "One million dollars. Nice doing business with you." Without saying thank you, Cynthia grabbed the money and rushed out the door. "I got it. One million dollars," she screamed as she opened the car door and got in. "Now we can pay for people to come to our house and teach Brandon as if he was in school. He will have a good education. We can leave him home alone without worrying if he is alright." Don was in shock. He did not know that the crystal ball would sell for one million. He simply nodded, but Cynthia was to excited and joyful to notice anything. They went home and told Brandon about everything. Then they went to bed. When Cynthia woke up she was in for a ride.
