----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ever since she began her training in celestial realm, she spent less time in the village. Even then, she didn't forgot about her parents. Whenever she could, she would visit them between her training sessions, helping them out with house work. She would cook for them, clean the house, buy any needed things. She wasn't the kind of person to forget about her close ones in order to gain more strength. She still felt connected with them, knowing how much they did for her. She wanted to express her thankfulness by helping them with even simplest of tasks whenever she was around.
Even today she visited them. They ate dinner together, chatting the whole time about their lives, both in the village and celestial realm. To say that they were proud of their daughter wasn't enough. Proud fulfilled their hearts, making them explode with joy. Not only did their daughter became a perfect example of grateful child, helping them with the smallest things, visiting them whenever she could, but she also grew stronger than she ever was. And for what? To become the village's protector! They couldn't express their delight towards their child. Eventually people from the village seemed to appreciate her as well. She was helping them out whenever asked, she was always polite towards them, making them glad to have such soul watching over them.
She would have lied if she didn't agree to liking such kind of attention. She wanted to feel useful, appreciated and needed, so of course she enjoyed receiving so called appreciation from not only villagers, her parents, but also from celestial beings that took care of her the first day she entered the gates of celestial realm. She wanted to impress all of them and make them feel proud of her by anything she did. It worked. Everyone were amazed by her, with the child chosen by heavens, send by gods to spread kindness and protecting those in need. As everything seemed to work the way she wanted it to, sudden news given to her by Lao Tzu seemed to startle her to say the least.
- I'm sorry, but could you repeat your earlier sentence? I'm most certainly must have misheard you the first time. - Wei Xiu spoke, wearing a fake smile while looking at Lao Tzu. Unlike her, he had rather calm expression. He took another sip of his tea before speaking.
- Huxian, I already repeated myself four times. The celestial realm is going to take in two new possible recruits. I already spoke with Jade Emperor and he agreed with me to leave these two under your care.
- Lao Tzu, with all my respect, I don't think that this is a right choice to make.
- But why, yes. You have improved a lot since the first day of your training. In fact, you have improved so much that the Jade Emperor is sure of your ability to guide these two young souls into their own journey of becoming great heroes. I agree with Jade Emperor on that. - He took another sip of his tea while Wei Xiu thought of a way to mix herself out of such situation.
- I feel flattered by hearing such words of praise from you, master, but just like you said, through these years my abilities have improved. But that does not mean that I'm on advanced enough level to train not one, but two new adepts. I'm not sure if I'll be able to live up to your expectations.
Lao Tzu hummed quietly while running his hand through his long, white beard.
- I feel like underestimate yourself, way. Of course, you are right at some point. You are not an advanced warrior, but you are a truly skilled student. I don't expect you to do all the work as a teacher, worry not. I simply believe that with your guide, of someone so experienced in such life and trainings, it will be easier for them to open up to such new situation. Could you at least keep an eye on them and let them observe your trainings? I'm sure that after seeing your great skills they'll feel more motivated to work hard on themselves. - Lao Tzu smiled at her, leaving her with no other choice.
