◇ LICORICE'S POV ◇

The kingdom has been quiet, obviously other than the hundreds of hounds barking and grunting. Actually, Licorice doesn't know what kind of noise they make, it's hard to tell with so many types around. And that's not even counting the stupid clink-clanks.

The cold breeze of the night carries the smoke of what remains of the ambush. Licorice coughs a few times when it approaches him, but that doesn't stop his pride. Licorice couldn't believe that he and the other Cookies of Darkness pulled it off for once.

Who knew catching them off-guard with a cursed legendary was so easy. Even that flaming spirit is fooled. Actually, Fire Spirit's already dumb in the first place, but better be grateful that he still maintained that dumb mind.

Now, Licorice is playing the waiting game since the bossy priestess and his master are coming to the kingdom soon. Everything in the castle is already prepared by his faithful licorice servants and cake servants. And by that, he means trashing the place and replacing it with fitting aesthetics. Very evil, dark aesthetics.

Licorice can't wait to see his deserving proud smirk from Dark Enchantress Cookie. After all, he was the one who kept everything in check for a month. There may or may not be distractions on the way, but forget about that cause he still nailed it.

Move aside, Pomegranate! I'm the star of the praise this time! Licorice mumbles and giggles to himself proudly before walking down the glorious dark halls of the castle. The moonlight seeps through the cracked red windows, and jellies' sweet fragrances are everywhere.

The licorice minions, the cakes, and the small wafflebots walk past him, doing their tasks. He focuses on his minions carrying sacks of biscuit flour down the hall. He notices that they're struggling to keep the sacks balanced, so he chuckles and decides to help them by lifting the sacks slightly so they can carry them better.

Licorice swears one of the minions closes its eyes to show gratitude before continuing its work. Seeing it subconsciously lets Licorice form a sweet smile as he continues his walk.

They are so adorable. After getting that thought, Licorice shakes his head violently to get rid of it. Great, now Clover is influencing his thought process.

Oh right... Clover. He saw him get shot by Night Raven's arrow in front of him. On the chest too, that must've hurt. Licorice feels like he could've told him sooner so that he can avoid it. Whatever, it already happened and he can't change it.

His thoughts are interrupted after hearing muffled yells coming from a door he happens to pass by. It sounds really aggressive and there's one familiar voice he picks up.

"Wait, Crepe? Oh for cake sakes, what are they yelling about now?!" Licorice scoffs in annoyance as he pushes the door open and barges into the room. He's shocked to see Crepe screaming their core out at a cookie who's clearly older than them. And that cookie is an enraged Sparkling.

"What on Earthbread is going on here?!" Licorice asks, annoyed and baffled at the same time. Hearing Licorice's voice immediately turns Sparkling's gaze towards Licorice, fretful and frustrated eyes pierce his core. That piercing sensation grows stronger as Sparkling marches towards him.

He notices that Sparkling covers himself with a worn-out cape to cover his messy attire. Licorice doesn't have much to ponder about after Sparkling grips him by his necklace full of skulls.
