Chapter 4

When we got to the reservation, we got out of the Jeep and Seth took my hand. We walked hand in hand into Sam and Emily's home. I looked around to see them all glaring at me, and Sam was standing in front of Emily protectively. "I'm not going to hurt any of you," I said. "How do we know that blood sucker?" asked Seth's sister, Leah. I just brushed it off. Emily called everyone to get a plate. I went in the kitchen, and fixed a plate with chicken, potato salad, and corn on the cob. I then sat down at the table next to Seth, and as far away from Emily to make Sam feel a little better. I started to eat. "What are you doing?" asked Leah. Wow, if that wasn't a dumb question, I don't know what is one. "Eating," I simply replied, taking a bite of my chicken. "Why?" she asked. Wow, I guess there is a even stupider question. "Because I'm hungry," I said. "But, how?" she asked. "Listen. I'm a half breed, so I can eat human food and blood. And Sam you can settle down a bit, I prefer human food. Blood isn't very appealing to me," I said.

After I said that it seemed they liked me a lot better. After we finished eating, they asked me a whole bunch of questions about being a hybrid. "I better get going, my dad is going to want me home soon," I said, getting up. "I'll go with you," said Seth. We walked out of the house, and got in the Jeep. "So are you going to be going to school?" he asked. "Yay," I replied. "Cool, we are going to be going to school together. The high school on Reservation is being closed due to budget cuts, so everyone is being transferred to Forks," he said. I felt better know that I would know someone on my first day.

Soon we arrived at my home. I parked the Jeep in the garage, and then came out side to say goodbye to Seth. I hugged him. "Bye Seth, I really had a great time. I hope we can do it again soon," I said. I started to walk into the house. "Wait Zoe? I wanted to ask you something," he said. I turned around. "Will you be my girlfriend?" he asked taking my hand. "Really? Of Course," I said, hugging him again. We both started to pull away, but stopped and looking into each others eyes. Our lips were only centimeters apart. We closed the gap. The kiss was magical, to say the least. We both heard the door open, and we jumped apart. "Okay, time to say goodbye," said my dad. He picked me up and threw me over his shoulder. "Bye Seth!" I said, waving.

When we got into the house, Aunt Bella and Uncle Edward were back. I hugged Uncle Edward, and then when I got to Aunt Bella she looked deathly pale. "What's wrong?" I asked, but before anyone could answer I heard too heart beats coming from her body. Oh, no!
