Aether didn't answer. After a while, Childe stood up and broke the silence. "I understand that this must be allot to take in..." Childe said. "But please think about it." He followed, while looking hopeful.
Childe lead Aether to one of the guest bedrooms so he could rest. When Childe left, Aether finally had the chance to breathe and think about what had just went down. Think about it? What was there to think about!? Was he even serious? Allot of questions were swarming through Aether's head. How could Childe defeat the whole Fatui AND the Tsaritsa? Of course he was undoubtedly strong, but still... fighting a god, was something no one would dream of.
-THE NEXT MORNING-
Aether woke up, changed and got out of the room. He met Childe in the dining room, talking to his siblings. Whenever Aether heard Childe talk about his siblings he seems so sincere and vulnerable. It's a whole different side of him that he rarely gets to see. It was clear that Childe cared deeply for his family and in a way, Aether wanted Childe to look at him with that expression. And talk about him with those kind words. Little did he know, that he took up way more of Childe's thoughts then he realized.
After a while, the kids went out to play and Aether and Childe were now home alone. "About yesterday..." Aether started. He was about to ask a question when Childe cut him off. "I'm sorry. I was too forward yesterday, wasn't i?" Childe said while looking down.
"Just forget about yesterday." Aether was afraid to miss his chance since Childe started to take back his words. "I'll do it!" Aether interrupted him. "What?" Childe was surprised at what the blonde just said. "I'll wait for you" Aether said. He took a moment to take a breath. "So once you're at the top, call me, and i'll stand next to you." He followed as Childe was still looking at him in shock. "I'll support you with every step you take. I'll be beside you, until you're sick of me and toss me aside. I'll be by your side, even if everyone turns their back on you. So make me proud." After Aether finished his 'speech' Childe was still in awe. He couldn't believe his ears. Then, it finally hit him. Childe opened his arms, slung them around Aether and hugged him as he lifted the boy in the air.
