In order to love someone, you have to be willing to make sacrifices.
To sacrifice your sanity, your happiness, your mind, and your heart.
There's so much to be sacrificed.
After all, love is a cruel game.
And Keiji Akaashi is stucked in it.
But even so, his heart continues to flutter while watching the other struggle.
He thought the way their nose would scrunch up whenever they messed up was cute.
"Won't you help me with my tie, Akash?"
A̶k̶a̶a̶s̶h̶i̶ ̶d̶i̶d̶n̶'̶t̶ ̶w̶a̶n̶t̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶h̶e̶l̶p̶.̶ He did.
"Sure"
His stomach twisted and turned. The butterflies in his stomach felt uneasy staying still.
"But don't you know how to tie a tie, Bokuto-san?"
This uneasiness made his mind wished he wasn't here right now.
"AGASHEEE!"
His eye never left the other's figure as they looked so beautiful in their elegant suit. The blazer fit perfectly on him and the cuff of his sleeves was fixed beautifully.
"Come on, just help me with this, Akaashi"
Bokuto pouted looking like a small precious bean. His heart contuined to beat.
"Don't want me to be late to my own wedding ceremony, do you?"
Akaashi body somehow made their way to the other. The other missing their big day i̶s̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶l̶a̶s̶t̶ ̶t̶h̶i̶n̶g̶ he wanted.
"I might put you on the backseat of a stolen bike and drive away from all of this with you for the fun of it"
His fingers flew through the fabric, slowly starting his work. H̶e̶ ̶h̶o̶p̶e̶d̶ ̶K̶ō̶t̶a̶r̶ō̶ ̶a̶g̶r̶e̶e̶s̶.̶
"That would be pretty funny but I would have to refuse your offer"
He scold his mind for those thoughts as his fingers traced along the fabric, his mind wishing it was the other's face. H̶i̶s̶ ̶h̶e̶a̶r̶t̶ ̶s̶a̶g̶s̶,̶ ̶s̶a̶d̶d̶e̶n̶e̶d̶ ̶a̶t̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶o̶t̶h̶e̶r̶'̶s̶ ̶r̶e̶s̶p̶o̶n̶s̶e̶.̶
"I can't miss this important day, you know?"
He discarded all those useless thoughts as he fixed the tie into place.
"You're no fun, Bokuto-san"
His heart aches. He takes a breath.
"You shouldn't confess to Bokuto"
"Bokuto-san"
The tick-tock beat of the turning signal reached his ears.
"I love you"
"But I did"
He said it. He finally said the words he had desperately been wanting to say for years.
The music in the background came to a stop.
"Agashe?"
"You..did?"
But was it worth it? Was this freedom worth the karma?
The concern in his voice didn't faze the other.
"I love you"
"I did"
His feelings didn't shake nor waver even if the words tasted sour.
He bit down on his lip to hide his pained expression.
He didn't want to lie anymore and play it as a joke. He lied too much and wanted to be selfish for once.
"I'm sorry.."
Is that too much to ask for?
His grip on the wheel tightened.
He took a breath. Another after another as the other looked confused and concerned about the situation. He looked conflicted and guilty.
"For what? You didn't do anything"
"Akaashi"
The tick-tock beat faded into the background.
"Keiji, I'm getting married"
Chocolate brown orbs stared into his.
The look in his eyes seemed remorseful and full of guilt. But he knew what his decision was from the start. They both knew.
Their smile quivered.
He gave Bokuto a sad smile as he looked at the other with watery eyes. He knew the truth. He knew reality and how much it hurts. How much it hurts to be the side character in this story.
"I'm sorry that the world is cruel"
"Yeah, I know, Kōtarō"
"That’s why I'm here today as your best man"

A/N: Thank you all for reading! Also, thank you all for all the love and support <33
I hope you enjoyed this special too as I really did enjoy writing this even though it made me sad. But I am not me without sad stuff (。•́︿•̀。)
I apologize for not uploading specials as I had to cramp up everything for school and I didn't feel the greatest. I am currently free from school for the next three days as I have to take psychology after.
I'll try my best to get out the 10k special, but I can't make any promises!
Apologizes if there's grammar or spelling errors! I didn't proofread (ಥ﹏ಥ)
Once again, thank you all for your love and support! Have an amazing week <33
