I can't remember...

Chapter 5 - Marissa's pov

     I wanted to scream. The figure was so tall and intimidating that I just wanted to curl up in a little ball and pretend that none of this was happening. Then I thought.... that's not what a demigod would do. A true demigod would be curious or fight back.

     I plucked up the courage and looked up at the figure. After closer assessment, I came to the conclusion that this was a scary man. I know I sound very smart to you right now but all I can see is that he is a scary dude.

     The man took a step closer to me and it took all my will power not to run away. "Hey, don't be scared I won't hurt you." he said. WHAT THE HECK! HE THINKS THAT IF HE TELLS ME THAT HE WON'T HURT ME WILL MAKE ME LESS SCARED!

     "I just want to talk to you" he continued. I take a deep breathe and say "make it quick before I get in trouble due to curfew." I said. WOW I am scared out of my mind right now and I'm using curfew as an excuse. That is stupid. I am stupid. There is no frickin way I am a child of Athena.

     He looks at me in the eye and says, "Hello, my name is Hades, the ruler of the underworld, and I just came to tell you about your past since you can't remember anything but your name."

     Now that took me by surprise. First of all he knows I don't remember anything. Two, he knows who I am and knows my past. And three.... HE IS THE GOD OF THE DAMN UNDERWORLD AND HE IS TALKING TO ME. "I am sorry for shocking you but this is needed. To keep you safe you need to know who you are."

     He starts telling me that he is my father and that my mother just recently died. She was a powerful magics user and loved me very much. He told me he couldn't go in to detail about her because he wanted me to find more about her myself. He said that she was a kind woman and that he loved her for that very reason.

     He tells me my full name...... Marissa Rose Wayson. He told me my date of birth which was 2008 on July 17th. He said he had to go but before he left he gave me something of my mother's. He gave me a pair of earrings. I immediately put them on. He smiles at me and disappears in the same blue and gray smoke he appeared in.

     I know for one thing, that I am not going to tell anyone I am a child of Hades. Not because I am ashamed but because people might be scared of me and what power I might possess. They might treat me different. I continued to walk in to the deeper part of the forest and stumbled upon a small abandoned cabin. I then decided, that this is where I will stay. But for now, I will sneak back in to Hermes cabin and sleep and in the morning I will ask permission from Chiron to move there.
