YOU ARE TOO CUTE FOR THIS WORLD.

In which the reader has a crush on the Water Pillar and, even though they barely talk, she takes his part during a fight. Later, that night, she confesses her feelings to him.

WARNING: just a slap.

«Tomioka-san, no one likes you» the Insect Pillar chirped out, a mocking grin adorning her lips.

That was not true. There was someone out of them whose heart bled every single time the petite Hashira insulted the Water Pillar. Still, she was careful not to let anyone notice it. It was hard pretending not to care, not to hear the sound of his lonely heart shattering, or the way those words might have stung.

Giyuu Tomioka seemed unfazed. His usual stolid façade up, he stared into the void. His ocean blue eyes were finding shelter in the cup of tea he was drinking.

You sighed and tightened your grip on your spear, your knuckles turning pale. Why did he not react? How could he keep up with that?
No one should have been tormented like this.
It was unacceptable. Your heart was two seconds away from exploding into thousands of bleeding splinters. You loved him.

You did not have much time to spend in his company and his reserved nature surely played a part in your pathetic attempts to befriend him. However, he did not chase you away. If you happened to be able to start a conversation, he would always join it. He was polite and you were glad he did not seem to despise you.

«Uh, poor Tomioka-san! I was not supposed to remind you of how lonely you actually are... Sorry about that!» Shinobu remarked, venom dripping from her words. She was not going to stop and Giyuu was probably going to ignore her. You wished you could do the same.

Frankly, you had enough. If she truly loathed her fellow Hashira, why didn't she just pretend he did not exist?

As you expected, silence swallowed you all. The only sounds merely audible were your heavy breaths. You were sparring with Mitsuri and you had almost knocked her out. You were furious. The pink-haired girl realized you were upset and had suggested you to take a break, which led to you sitting across from the Insect Pillar, your eyes daggers on her. You seemed not to be able to cool down.

The purple-haired girl giggled, arms folded over her chest as she leaned towards her favorite victim «I wonder why you keep on hanging around with us, if your presence is unsolicited» she crooned.

Slap.

It was enough. Your hand had reached out for her cheek before you even had time to realize what you were doing. Giyuu stared at you, your eyes focused on the Insect Pillar and Mitsuri covered her mouth with a hand in pure shock. She was probably thinking something like "Y/N is hot, when she loses her temper!", but you were glad no one had stopped you.

You were not a violent prick, a bully, you had never laid a finger on a human being, but you had truly had enough of that girl tormenting someone who did not deserve any of the terrible treatment he had been receiving since he had joined the Corps.
