The next day was kinda rough for y/n because she had just became Nuts avatar and was learning about her and the powers she now has and her best friend/crush leaving her the day before.
So y/n texts Steven and it says "hey Steven. What happened yesterday? You just up and left me in the bathroom"
About 45 minutes later Steven replies "Hey y/n/n! I'm so sorry about that but Marc took over and I didn't know where I was when I became me again and I went home and stayed there. I I'm so so sorry darling. I didn't mean to make you upset with me". Y/n can tell by the way the text was he was truly sorry.
She replied "Steven I'm not upset with you. I just wish I could've understood what happened."
Steven says "well we can chat later I have to finish work. Laters gators"
She says "In awhile crocodile" and smiles at her phone.
Meanwhile Steven is looking around at the caution tape and says "has anyone seen the security footage?"
The man with him says "yea I was about to" Steven says "alright, I think I should go with you yea?".
They walk over to the security footage tv and Steven says " what you're about to see will melt your brain yea, mi6 bonkers brother" while leaning down putting his hand on his co-workers shoulder. The man says " yea alright mate" and presses playin the footage.
He looks at it intensely and says "is that you Scotty!?" Excitedly and Steven says "it's still Steven and yeah that's me... oh yeah here it comes wait for it!!" (The screen shows him and Y/n standing in the middle of the museum)
Steven says "wait for it". The man says annoyedly "I thought mate-" Steven says "oh gosh, oh gosh no no no" cutting off the man.
And he says "it's still you brother" (the screen showing "Steven" walking towards the camera with a meaner look on his face).

-Y/n POV-

"He's acting strange ever since that incident happened yesterday. I need to figure out what happened and what's going on. I'm going to call him over tonight" (thinking out loud)
And goes into the kitchen to make me a cup of coffee.

Steven heads to the office to talk to the man and then heads to his storage unit to look for some stuff. He says "I'm looking for my locker, it's under Steven grant or it might be under Marc."
The guy let's him in and he walks into his locker and goes through the bag sitting there and pulls out a gun and Steven looks at it perplexedly. He continues to go through the bag and pulls out money and then an ID card and says out loud " Marc Spector" and sees the scarab (beetle) and says "it's totally real" in amazement, and it starts to float above his hand and he says "I'd say you're a compass!" And grabs it and continues "oh he's there, hello there man in the mirror so wha... wha... what am I meant to be like... like some mad secret agent or... or something or... are you like a demon!?" Marc says in his head "youre in danger and I can save us so this is what's gonna happen. You're gonna go lay down on that cob back there and take a nice nap" Steven says "are... are you joking!!? Tell me what it is you are! What are you?" Clearly frustrated. "Are you sure you wanna know? "Yes buddy yes!!" Steven continuing to raise his voice.
Marc says In his head "I am an avatar for konshu and I protect the travelers of the night and help konshu. And I'm currently in the middle of a mission for him, but you keep ruining it." "oh my gosh that is the stupidest thing I've ever heard! I eat one piece of steak and bam!! I go bonkers!" "I'll deal with konshu" "I... I need to go to the hospital I think" putting his head in his hands. "You want my body!?!? Right yea Marc how about this for a deal fill me with enough stuff so you get out of my head!" And he grabs the bag and runs out of there. The lights start to flicker and again he sees konshu following him but then appears right in front of him. Konshu says in his head "Steven-" (in a deep voice)
Steven screams and runs out scurrying and slipping all over the place trying to get to y/n's house.
He finally gets to her flat and knocks on the door very aggressively and she opens and says " what the heck is wrong with you??" And Steven says "I was being chased by that stupid bird again and... and I talk... talked to...to Marc and...and... and...-" y/n says "Stevie, calm down. Breathe and calm down and explain what happened slowly"
Steven says " after I talked to you I was in the area where all of that happened yesterday and it had caution tape all around the area and my co-worker was with me and I asked him if... if he had watched the security footage yet and he said no so we went and watched it. You couldn't see anything except for you and I running from the jackal and he couldn't see it which was weird so now he probably thinks I've lost my mind but then I was caked into the main office and he fired me because I have a DID (dissociative identity disorder) cause what showed up on the footage was not me so I don't have a job anymore so I talked to someone and then I went to my locker and... and...-" y/n says "take it slow Stevie" he smiles and continues. "And I found a bag with a gun, money and an identity card that said Marc Spector. Then he started talking to me saying I was in danger and I needed to go take a nap on the cop so he could do what was needed to be finished cause he works for Konshu which apparently is the big bird and told me who he was and I ran off and came here" now out of breath.
Y/n says "Stevie, I'm so terribly sorry that you got fired" and hugs him. He hugs back and says in barely a whisper "I love you" but didn't know that y/n could hear him and she says " do you mean it?" He said "oh shoot you heard me" and looks down nervously and y/n says "answer my question Steven."
And he says "yes, yes it is true. I... I... I love you y/n" and smiles nervously.
Y/n smiles even harder and says "Steven grant I love you too" Steven smiles bigger and says "so will you be my girlfriend?" She says " of course Steven I'd love to".
He leans in and looks at y/n's lips and gently says " may I kiss you?" Which makes y/n giggle and say " yes Steven yes you can" and blushes. Steven gently reaches his hand up to y/n's cheek and caresses it and leans in more and their lips meet in a soft, gentle kiss and pulls away blushing like a manic and y/n says " wow... that was amazing" Steven says "really? I've.. I've never really done it that much before" and rubs the back of his neck nervously. Y/n grabs his hand and kisses him and says " I'll help you through this. I've been working on my powers and goddess so I'll try and help you with yours" and smiles.
