"Love me like you do. L-l-love me like you do." I sung as I skipped towards my desk. Miyuki eyed me carefully as I plopped down grinning.
"What's got you in such a good mood?" Kuramochi asked, looking up from the paper Ichigo and him were doodling on. I grabbed a random pencil and began to scribble pentagrams and little satanic people. Ichigo began to add little tridents in their hands and evil eyebrows.
"We get to get out of school tomorrow because we gots a game!" I cheered, throwing my hands in the air and narrowly missing Miyuki's face.
Miyuki nodded understandingly. "Yeah, this tournament has been pretty easy. Our next opponent seems interesting." Miyuki confirmed. My mouth dropped open at his words.
"What makes you say that?"Kuramochi asked as I looked between the two of them with a gaping mouth.
"Hold da phone bruh. We are in a tournament?" I screeched, standing up indignantly. Miyuki and Kuramochi gave me a well-duh look and I kept looking back and forth at them. "I thought those were scrimmages!" I continued.
Kuramochi let out one of his annoying brays of laughter that would put Jake and a sheep to sham. My mouth kept opening and closing before I just crossed my arms and pouted.
The first years burst into the room as I began to mutter about how no one tells me anything. Sawamura was first to reach me, tripping over random things as he went.
"Adi-chan!" He called and I dejectedly looked up at him. "I know we met your mom but when do we meet your dad!?" He exclaimed.
Immediately, a pang of pain shot through me, making me gasp lightly. The pain was quickly followed by guilt. I hadn't thought about him in ages. These boys somehow made me forget the pain that I swore I would never let fade.
I bit my lip to postpone the eminent tears that would fall. "He's back in Cali. He won't be able to visit 'cause some issues." Like he's in the ground.
I struggled to force a smile on my face like I did the months after his death and whenever anyone but family mentions him.
Sawamura grinned infectiously, making my smile a tad bit more sincere. "Maybe we can visit him!" He enthused. I gave him a sad smile and nodded. "I think he would like that." I answered in a voice barely above a whisper.
I didn't see Miyuki's glare at the first year as I slowly scribbled swirls on the paper. Ichigo leaned forward and pressed a light kiss to my forehead, eliciting a small smile from me.

Third person POV
Miyuki and the others stood in the bull pen waiting for Chris to tell them why their most adored outfielder was so upset.
"Ah, here it is." Chris said, holding up a piece of paper. Everyone held their breath as he scanned the contents coming up with exactly what he was looking for.
"Connor Ravenscar, Adi's father. A pretty wealthy man, a renowned baseball player that played for the Arizona Cardinals then moved to California after meeting his wife. Two years ago he was in a severe car accident and died two weeks later in the hospital. Adi was in the car with him when it happened and spent half a year in the hospital. She spent the next year in rehab and returned there about once every two weeks before her departure here. The damage points were her knees and right shoulder." Chris frowned down at the paper.
"I wrote this down because I thought she would have some issues but forgot because she hadn't been exhibiting any signs of pain or discomfort." He frowned at the paper as if trying to make it tell him the secrets to the universe.
Ryo opened his normally closed eyes a fraction. "Adi constantly wraps her chest and I've noticed she wraps her shoulders too." Ryo added, ignoring the eyes narrowed in his direction from the revelation that he's seen her without a shirt.
"We should share this information with coach. I don't want her to hurt herself anymore than she already has." Testu firmly crossed his arms. There were nods of agreement.
"Where is she?" Haruichi asked, looking around and earning shrugs in response. Tetsu immediately took control.
"Everyone find her, Chris and Tanba will relay this information to Coach." He commanded and everyone quickly followed his orders.
--------------------
Miyuki made a shooshing noise as the rest of the first stringers ran up, finally finding Adi after nearly two hours of searching.
Miyuki cautiously looked in, not sure if he wanted to disturb the violent child. She was currently in the work out room with a bat, beating the shit out of a punching bag with it. It was fucking terrifying.
Tetsu pushed past everyone to get a view of Adi's wild, pained expression before storming into the room. "What do you think you're doing? If you continue like this you'll injure yourself." He told her in his Captain's voice.
Adi continued like she didn't hear him and began to yell. "IT'S! MY! FAULT! HE'S DEAD! AND! IT'S! MY! FAULT!" With each word she spoke she hit the bag, making it swing back from the force.
Tetsu stepped forward and grabbed her roughly. "Nothing was your fault. Now stop it before you hurt yourself." He commanded. Adi stared up at him in shock before breaking down into violent sobs.
Miyuki felt his heart clench as he stepped forward and took Adi into his arms, holding her shaking form. She buried her face into his shoulder and cried her heart out.
Haruichi bent down next to the two and began to rub Adi's back, whispering reassurances. Sawamura was first to speak. "What happened?" He asked quietly.
All the boys sent him glares but Adi looked up at him with wide, tear filled, doe eyes. "We were driving back from one of my brothers competitions. We were singing and laughing, you know, just having some innocent fun. I asked something and distracted him from the road and next thing I knew I was in the hospital with people telling me my dad is dead." Her voice was raw and barely above a whisper. Miyuki used his thumb to wipe some of the tears from her cheek.
"Apparently, a semi rammed into the drivers side of the car, crushing it in. I was told my dad was still alive for a couple of weeks then died and I was unconscious for that time. I couldn't even go to his funeral because I was stuck in the hospital." Her voice was wobbly, making Miyuki instinctively hug her to his chest tightly.
Her breathing was still deep and shuddered with each breath she took, though, her tears had turned silent.
After a couple minutes of silence she had finally calmed down. And began to laugh.
It started as a chuckle and grew to giggles and then full body laughter. She pulled out of Miyuki's arms and gave him a grateful smile.
"Thanks guys. I've been holding that in for way too long." She took one last shuddering breath before grinning up at the boys.
"You guys just tend to make me forget any sadness and stuff. Sorry about breaking down too. It doesn't happen often." She looked up at them with shiny eyes before casting her glance to the floor as she apologized.
"I think you should be apologizing to the punching bag for hitting it so hard." Kuramochi joked but to his surprise Adi actually stood and hugged the punching bag, wrapping her legs around it as she apologized.
"There. I apologized. But you know what I'm not gonna apologize for? Beating you in Mario Kart!" She yelled, racing Kuramochi to the dorms. Sawamura, Jun, and Masuko raced after them, leaving the others to laugh and slowly follow.
--------------------
They always end up in weird positions. Always. If they have a sleep over in one persons room they always wake up in the strangest positions. But these had to take the cake.
Chris, Tanba, and Kawakami were all wrapped up in the corner... by duct tape. Apparently, they told everyone to go to bed and it didn't turn out well, especially by the marker written on their foreheads. Masuko had fallen asleep in the corner with pudding covering his face and two pudding cups stuck to his chest as if they were breast.
The three first years were covered with a blanket, sprawled out on top of one another a large pile. Somehow Sawamura had found Furuya's arm and used it as a pillow. Jun was sprawled on his back in front of a shogi board and Tetsu was face down on said board, a line of drool sliding down his cheek.
Ryo was curled up tightly on a bed with a pink fuzzy blanket that was a couple shades hotter than his hair. Miyuki and Kuramochi were on another bed, cuddling Adi who was asleep in the middle of them.
Her face was clear of any tear streaks. Her expression was completely peaceful, her entire body lax against her fellow second years. She hadn't slept that well since before her dad had died.=====================================
