Harlequin was alone in the middle of nowhere. He was looking through a town and something had caught his eye
Harlequin thoughts: A girl?? All the way out here?
Harlequin approached the small girl. She looked pale and starving. Harlequin picked her up and gently placed her on his pillow. He then took off his top and wrapped it around her gently before going off to pick some apples. He saw a tree nearby and found some ripe apples. He plucked them before turning around and sitting next to his pillow.
Harlequin: Uhm.. Young girl.. Hello?.. Time to wake up. I've brought food.
Harlequin felt quite concerned and checked for a pulse. Luckily there was one. He sighed in relief and waited a little bit, he decided it best to go off and find some more food.
The girl slowly opened her eyes and looked around. The little girl could smell the nice food Harlequin was preparing. Harlequin saw she had woken up and waited for her.
???: Huh.. what's.. That smell?
Harlequin: You're awake. Well I made you something, if you're interested in eating?
???: Food?.. For me?
Harlequin: Ofcourse.
The girl smiled and ran over to where Harlequin was. She sat down and waited for the boy to give her the nice smelling food. Harlequin dipped the ladle into the pot he found. He made soup. He blew on it a little and passed it to the young girl.
???: What's this?
Harlequin: It's soup. It's like.. Um.. Liquid food?
???: Liquid?
Harlequin: Water type food.
???: Ooo.. That sounds cool
Harlequin: It's very easy to make and it tastes great.
As the girl tried it Harlequin smiled.
???: Ah!! It's amazing, could I have more??
Harlequin: Ofcourse you can. Be careful, it's very hot.
Harlequin passed the ladle over to the young girl.
Harlequin: Before you eat again.. Whats your name?
???; My.. My name is Diane. What's yours??
Harlequin: My name is Harlequin. But you can call me King, if you want to. Most people call me King..
Harlequin smiled at Diane. Not long after Diane fell asleep on Harlequins lap with a full stomach. Harlequin felt a bit tired himself and closed his eyes for a bit.
???: King.. King.. Help! Help me please-
Harlequin woke up in a deep sweat. He looked around, scared. It was pitch black and cold. He heard noises and it scared him. King looked down and saw the comfortable girl.
Harlequin: Helbram.. Where are you?
Diane: *yawn* Helbram? Who's that??
Harlequin: Oh! I'm sorry, I didn't mean to wake you..
Diane: I'm alright. King, are you going to go soon?
Harlequin: Well I have to-
Diane hugged him and Harlequin felt confused.
Harlequin: Are you alright?
Diane: Please.. Please don't leave me. You're the first person who's been kind to me and fed me, please.. Don't go.
Harlequin: How about I bring you with me? I promise I won't leave you behind. Okay?
Diane: Really?
King: Really. I think we should go before something bad happens, alright?
Diane: Oh.. Okay..
Harlequin: Would you like a piggy back? Or a ride on the pillow?
Diane: Piggy back!
Harlequin kneeled down for Diane to jump on his shoulders. She did so and Harlequin stood up.
Diane: Woah
Harlequin: Are you alright?
Diane: It's so high! Look! Mist.
Dawn rolled around. The sun barely peaked over the hills.
Diane: So pretty..
Harlequin: I've never been out this early before, it really is quite pretty, isn't it?
Diane: Yeah!
Harlequin laughed a little at how adorable Diane is.
Diane: What's funny?
Harlequin: Hm?! Nothing.. Nothings funny.
Harlequin began wondering his way back to the kingdom, forgetting the fact he's supposed to be finding Helbram. Before Harlequin arrived back near the castle he completely forgot he was looking for Helbram.
Harlequin: Oh.. No..
Diane: What's wrong??
Harlequin: I was looking for my friend that went missing.. I.. I completely forgot.
Harlequin looked down and felt disappointed in himself. Diane patted his head and he looked up.
Harlequin: Are you alright?
Diane: I don't have any place to go, King.
Harlequin: Oh.. That's right. You can live with me? Does that sound alright?
Diane: *gasp* REALLY??
Diane began smiling. Harlequin felt her smile was contagious and couldn't help but smile along. Harlequin walked around to the front of the castle and put Diane down.
Diane looked at him confused. When the guards saw him they rushed over to him and asked if he was alright. Harlequin smiled and nodded.
Harlequin: I'm taking her in with me, alright?
Guard 5: Sir!
Guard 3: Please stop running away, Young prince.
Diane thoughts: Young prince??
Diane: Are you a princess?
Harlequin looked down at her, utterly shocked.
Harlequin: Ah.. A Princess? N-No, Diane, I'm a prince.
Diane: What's a prince?
Harlequin: A.. Um.. Boy version of princess. It's just prince.
Diane: Woahhh! So you're like a princess.
Harlequin: Ahehe *sigh*
The guards laughed a little. Harlequin snapped his head around and looked at them.
Guard 5: I'll go inform the King of your arrival, Young Prince.
The guard managed to escape. Harlequin looked at Diane and smiled at her.
Harlequin: Let's go in, if that's alright with you?
Diane: Yeah!
Harlequin stood up and held Diane's hand. He was much taller than her, so he had to change his posture a bit.
King Gloxinia: What?! He's returned has he?
Guard 5: Yes, your majesty. He also harbours a young child.
King Gloxinia: A child?
Guard 5: Yes, your majesty.
King Gloxinia: I see. Is he on his way here?
Guard 5: Yes, your majesty.
King Gloxinia: Alright, thank you. You can return to your post now.
Guard 5: Thank you, your majesty.
The guard bowed and ran off. Harlequin entered just in time and King Gloxinia ran over to him. Gerheade also ran over to him.
Gerheade: What do you think you're doing-
King Gloxinia: How dare you run off, you know you're not supposed to-
Gerheade: Why did you run off?
King Gloxinia: If this was because of Helbram I swear, Harlequin-
Diane peaked out from behind Harlequin. They both stopped trying to argue their points and looked at her.
Gerheade and Gloxinia thoughts: SHE'S ADORABLE!
Gerheade: Where did you find her??!
King Gloxinia: What are you doing, why do you have that child?
Harlequin: I found her, when I was exploring.
Gerheade: Brother.. Can we keep her? I'm sure she'd make a great maid.
King Gloxinia: Hmm...
Harlequin: If you won't allow her to stay, I'll run off again.
King Gloxinia: Fine. She can stay
Harlequin smiled and looked down at Diane who was also super happy. Both King and Diane shared the same excited expression.
King Gloxinia: First, let's clean her up. Gerheade I'll leave that with you.
Gerheade: Alright. Thank you, brother.
King Gloxinia: Anything for my younger sister.
Gerheade and Harlequin rushed off Diane to get her sorted here in the kingdom.
