3rd person pov
"Happy Birthday, gosh your finally 18." Jake winked. Jeremy laughed.
"Now that your 18, you can do whatever the heck you want! So, what do you wanna do today birthday boy?" Ori asked. They all had been waiting for this day, prepared to do something crazy and weird. Something more crazy than just going to the arcade and screaming at the machines.
"Hmm, I don't know. But you know what would be fun?"
"What?" They asked.
"Debunking that weird theory about that abandoned open store Ikea! Also, since it's my birthday I'm gonna drive." He said proudly. Mochi rolled her eyes.
"OK fine. Just don't kill us." Jake teased. Now it was Jeremy's turn to roll his eyes. Ori and Mochi laughed at Jeremy's face.
"Come on, what are we doing? Let's get a move on!" Ori shouted. They ran to Jake's toyota and got in. Jeremy flexed his fingers, bit his tongue, than pressed on the accelerator. He didn't go then stop like he did when he first tried to drive, he was now driving smoothly and grinned to himself in satisfaction. Jake sighed in relief which caused Jeremy to look at him, one eyebrow raised. Ori and Mochi chuckled.
"At least I didn't stop and go like a certain someone." Jeremy smirked, looking at the windshield mirror.
"HEY!" Mochi shouted in retaliation. Everyone else laughed.
They stopped at a 7 11 to grab snacks and drinks. Jeremy felt proud as he put the bottles on the counter while the others paid. They got back in the car and drove the rest of the way to the old furniture store.
They opened the metal wired gates and went in, holding their snacks and drinks. Everywhere they looked, there were couches, lamps, tables and old televisions. They made their way to the centre of the place and sat on a grey four seater couch. They got themselves comfortable and placed their food and drink on the wooden table in front of the couch. Jeremy opened the first bottle and they all cheered. They raised their paper cups and drank to Jeremy who grinned.
Ori sighed. "Doesn't it seem weird how people think there are zombies here? Like if there were we would have seen them by now." Ori stated, sipping on her vodka.
"Yeah your right. Zombies appearing in abandoned furniture store at 8pm. Like seriously do these people have something better to do." Mochi scoffed.
"Well we're gonna prove they were wrong right?" Jeremy said. "So stop complaining. Let's talk about something else."
Time Skip to 8pm 🏃♀️
"Man, if they were gonna choose a time when zombies would come out they should have chosen a scarier timing." Jake said as he looked around. The vodka was gone and so were the snacks. It would have been pitch black if the lamps were not all switched on. Jeremy felt a chill run down his spine. He had a small fear of the dark and was grateful for the lamps.
"Yup, no zombies anywhere." Ori said after looking everywhere. She took here phone and scanned the entire area with the camera. Then she pocketed her phone.
"We should head back now." Jeremy said, getting up.
"Ooo, you scared?" Jake teased. Jeremy rolled his eyes. They all got up and made their way to the exit. The gates were still where they were. Jake went ahead to open it.
It didn't open.
"Uh, problem? The gate isn't opening." Jake said, rattling the metal wired gate.
"Uh, second problem Jake." Ori replied, here face white as paper.
"INCOMING!! JAKE OPEN THAT FRICKING GATE!" Jeremy shouted as though they were playing a video game and the enemy was behind them. Jake turned to see what they were talking about.
He gulped.
He saw faceless people.
The Zombies.
