The next morning the red mist had disappeared, replaced by thick fog. Jake was about to place the ladder down when Ori stopped him and pointed down. Jake peeked down, to be greeted with the sight of the undead.
"Why are they still here?" Jake asked.
"I don't know, maybe they think it's still dark?" Jeremy suggested.
"Maybe. But we're not sure on what makes them go on a rampage in the first place." Ori replied as she walked away from the horde below. Everyone else followed suit, no one was eager to stay near a place where you could potentially fall and drop to your death. Even with a dozen hands down there willing to greet your arrival.
Jeremy calculated how long their food and water would last them while Mochi went to the shelf above his and explored the rest of the shelf with Ori. Jake just laid down and tried to get some sleep.
"This kinda reminds me of a horror movie trope or something." Mochi said as they walked on top the metal shelf. Ori shrugged.
"I don't know. I prefer to play horror games than to watch horror stuff." she replied, scanning the area below them.
"You know what's weird?" Ori suddenly said.
"What?"
"Is how there's huge pillars around. They have to lead to somewhere don't they?"
Mochi looked to where ori was pointing. It was a huge pillar, leading up into the grey sky above. It seemed infinitely tall. Or maybe the clouds blocked the top from view, Mochi thought.
"I wonder, is there an end to any of the stuff here?" Mochi questioned as she flung her arms into the air out of nowhere.
"There has to be. But I don't know who would built such a huge place." Ori replied. "Want some gum?"
"WHAT, YOU HAD GUM THIS WHOLE TIME??"
"I always have a secret stash with me." Ori answered. Mochi took one and popped it into her mouth.
"mMmMMM, is this watermelon gum?"
"Yup. Wouldn't get any other." Ori said smiling as she popped her gum into her mouth before putting it back in her pocket. "Now don't tell the boys I have gum or they'll finish the whole packet." Mochi rolled her eyes.
"What makes you think I will?"
"Everything and ANYTHING."
