*A Week Later*

Ivory: *wash my face*

Jackson: *walks in* you wanted to see me?

Ivory: Yeah, you seen Brandon?

Jackson: Not since yesterday, why what's up?

Ivory: Don't worry about it, wanna ride with me today?

Jackson: Yeah I'm down. Oh someone is in the studio waiting for you.

Ivory: Alright, go get dressed.

Jackson: *leaves*

Ivory: *pop two pills* *drink water* *look in the mirror* *walk downstairs*

Dad: If you invited me over, I wouldn't have to show up unannounced.

Ivory: Dad? What are you doing here?

Dad: Ciara called me, what's going on?

Ivory: Nothing, everything is good.

Dad: Not according to your sister, what is this I hear about you moving two complete strangers in?

Ivory: They're not strangers and it's temporary. I'm just helping them get on their feet.

Ciara: *easedrops*

Dad: Ivory, you can't take care of everybody. You can barely take care of yourself and I'm not talking financially.

Ivory: Daddy, I'm okay. As a matter of fact, things are great. My real estate business is doing really well and I'm starting a new business venture.

Dad: Ivory, what are you running from?

Ivory: Nothing, I'm running towards something great dad.

Dad: What kind of business are you starting now?

Ivory: I'm gonna open a studio and make my own record label.

Dad: *chuckles* no

Ivory: Stop expecting me to fail at everything

Ivory: Stop expecting me to fail at everything. God, you're treating me exactly how you treated mom.

Dad: What do you mean by that?

Ivory: Mom was never good enough for you. I watched her day and night cater to your every want and need. She worked hard, just like me, tooth and nail everyday. She took in the kids you had on her with some random ass white woman and you still weren't man enough to even say you were sorry. Why do you think we haven't seen each other since mom passed? Her need for your love and your validation literally killed her. You're not gonna kill me dad.

You're not gonna kill me dad
