It had been a week. A whole week since everything happened. You were standing at the railing of Ace's ship. You had woken up a few days ago with memory loss but everything had already cleared up and you could remember everything that happened that day. You hadn't suffered too many injuries. Just some large bruises and cuts and a burn on your back which had already almost healed thanks to the ship's miracle doctor.

Ace was still not awake and you were worried. The doctor said he was alright but he didn't know what happened. What if Ace woke up and try to murder everyone again? You had no antidote. Ace had also suffered minor internal damage and a few fractured bones along with his bruises.

You had time to think about things during these few days. It didn't seem like enough time tho. Everyone on the ship left you alone while they waited for their commander to wake up so you had plenty of time to yourself. In fact they were pretty mad at you for endangering their commander, sending you nasty glances every chance they got.

You climbed up to the crow's nest and fell asleep there. You didn't wake up until someone kicked you hard enough to leave a bruise.

"What the heck Teach!" you yelled at him angrily.

"Come on," he said plainly.

"Let me alone. Geez. I'm planning to leave anyways," you murmured.

"Commander wants to see you."

"What...?" you ran as quickly as you could to the doctors office tripping as you sprinted.

"Ace!" you bursted into the office, getting a dirty look from the doctor.

"Y/n," Ace sighed with relief and smiled at you. "Look at me. Pretty funny right? I look like a wrapped up mummy."

Tears stung your eyes. "You dummy."

"Haha sorry," Ace chuckled.

"He always gets hurt but usually not this much," the doctor added. "Now I'll be on the deck if anyone needs me."

"Thanks doc," Ace said.

"My pleasure," he sighed and shut the door leaving you alone with Ace.

You sat down in a chair next to Ace. No one spoke and you both sat in awkward silence.

"Look y/n-" Ace started.

"No stop Ace," you motioned for him to stop. "It's not your fault ok? It's mine. I shouldn't have let it happen in the first place."

"I remember everything that happened. I don't understand what happened to me but I just wanted to apologize for hurting you. I also understand if you'd like to leave and never hear from me again."

"It's not your fault. They did something to you. You couldn't control it and frankly I'm so glad that you're still alive. But it's all over now and no evidence was left either."

"You're good at your job. I'll give you that."

"Well I'll let you get your rest," you stood up but Ace grabbed your hand.

"Y/n...I don't want you to leave," he said looking into your eyes with his pleading ones.

You smiled. "I wasn't planning to."

"What?" Ace's eyes glistened.

"Im planning to stay with you guys...if you don't mind of course. Most likely temporarily. Just letting you know though, you have no idea what you're getting yourself into. My boss will mostly likely hunt me down like an angry bear."

"Guess I'll have to deal with it," Ace smirked. "So you're not going to be an assassin anymore?"

"Im not sure. Either I become a pirate or stay an assassin. Or something else. But I have time to figure it out."
