They were all there. The admirals, the shichibukai, and then Ace. He was so close yet so far. He was covered in bruises and tied down with sea stone. You almost lost it there and then. You were so angry. At the whole world. You were ready to end this here and now.

Marco lay his hand on your shoulder. "Don't go off without using your head yoi. We can't have you dying out on us bc of my stupid brother."

You were standing with all the commanders with Whitebeard at the head of the Moby Dick which had just pulled up the the edge of Marineford.

Whitebeard was speaking but you couldn't hear a thing. All you could focus on was Ace who seemed so far away. You could feel his gaze land on you.

He was shocked and frustrated, seeing his family come to save him. He was an idiot. He should have thought with his head. He could've beat Blackbeard with your help. And now they were here to save him. To start a battle bc of him. Everyone that died today would be bc of him.

And then Luffy, his idiot of a brother. Of course he had to be here. Ace would give him a good scolding when he got his hands on his brother. All he could do now tho was wait...and hope.

Suddenly Whitebeard used his power to shake the whole sea. It was chaos. Everyone began running...toward him, toward the pirates. The battle had begun.

You slid down the Moby Dick and began running. Running toward Ace. You didn't focus on the battle around you or in front of you. You heard Marco shouting at you to wait and use your head but you didn't listen. Your head could wait.

You fought anyone and everyone in your path. You were finally close enough to see Ace clearly. He looked pale and in despair. He was so angry at himself.

"ACE!" you yelled at the top of your lungs, trying to get his attention. His attention moved to you and you smiled to yourself.

He gritted his teeth and yelled back, "GET AWAY!"

You frowned, like heck you would go away. You grabbed Ace's hat which was wrapped around your neck and raised it up high, as high as you could and waved it.

"I LOVE YOU, YOU IDIOT!" you shouted for the whole world to hear. You hoped they would. You hoped everyone knew that he was yours. He was your idiot.

He didn't move, still paralyzed with shock but you swore you saw the corners of his lips lift a little.

You kept running until a very threatening admiral blocked your path. It the Aokiji. You got a glimpse of his power once and dodged as a wall of ice tried to crush you. You now faced the admiral. You hoped you wouldn't get to face one but now it was inevitable. You were going to have to try to take care of him yourself.

"Who are you? I haven't seen or heard of you until today on Whitebeard's ship," the admiral pointed out.

"That...is none of your business," you said and ran for the admiral, throwing two of your daggers. Of course he blocked them with ease.

"Cheap tricks won't work on me girl. Go back home."

You growled. "You haven't seen anything yet."

A dozen sharp daggers of ice flew at you. You tried dodging them all but one nailed you right in your side. You staggered a bit but took the opportunity to run an your opponent. You slid right between his feet and hid behind a large piece of cement. Of course you couldn't beat the admiral, not like this. You were just going to have to outsmart him. And time was running out.

You grabbed a crossbow that was hidden behind your cloak and jumped out of your hiding place, firing the weapon. It missed Aokiji.

"And before even saying I missed...I didn't," you grinned and tugged on a line that was tied to the arrow you just shot. The arrow lodged itself in a log that was holding a dozen barrels. With you tugging the line, the log unlodged and the barrels came rolling down toward the admiral. With luck the barrels contained oil and even tho Aokiji stopped all the them, the ones that broke open spilled the slippery substance. And covered the space the admiral stood on.

"You know this can't stop me for long," Aokiji said, calmly.

"As long as it stops you for long enough," you answered and sprinted off.

You were so close to Ace now. A pair of claws picked you off the ground.

"Marco! What are you doing?!" you burst out.

"I'm helping you out yoi," he answered.

"Oh," you paused. "Thank you," you mumbled.

"Sorry I didn't quite hear that," Marco joked.

As he got closer another admiral blocked your path. He didn't look too special. His name was Garp from what you remembered.

Garp pulled back his fist, hitting the Phoenix. It was a hard hit and Marco went flying back against the ground. He threw you down before and you landed a few meters away from Ace. You fell hard and groaned.

"Y/n!" You sat up quickly, hearing the familiar voice. Ace. He was right here...so close to you.

You stood up, noticing the two marines standing by Ace with their swords. You quickly took care of them and knelt close the raven hair. You picked up his cuffs and finally then realized you didn't have a key!

"Shit," you muttered.

"Y/n...Y/n listen to me," Ace croaked.

You turned you attention to him. He looked so broken...so defeated.

"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I couldn't b-beat him. I let e-everyone down. This is all m-my fault," he stuttered. You wanted to hug Ace and hold him close and tell him everything was going to be alright...but you couldn't. Not right now. You needed to free him first.

"It's alright Ace. It's alright," you tried comforting him but he stopped you.

"Luffy. Promise me y/n. Take care of Luffy. Promise me."

"You're gonna be fine!" you yelled. "No one is dying. You will protect him...and me."

"But-" you silenced him with a kiss. He kissed you back and relaxed a bit. His breathing got back to normal. Ace took a good look at you, seeing your bruised and the crimson blood coming from your side.

"Ace!" You both turned seeing Luffy running at him with a strange man. A crowd of marines and Sengoku chased them.

"Luffy!" you shouted, smiling. You didn't realize he was here.

A crowd of marines crowded below you and aimed a dozen cannons and rifles at you.

Everything became a blur. Luffy had a key in his hand and was reaching for Ace's cuffs. The cannons were fired. This is it. As you felt blissful darkness cover you, a warm and familiar hand wrapped around your waist. And that's when you knew. No matter what happened you didn't care anymore. You didn't care if you died. If you wouldn't see your brothers or Pops ever again. It didn't matter bc...

                                                                         Ace was free.
