The stares didn't stop. It's been almost two weeks since I moved into Jace's room and the tension between me and the pack was as thick as ever. Jace, obviously, was completely oblivious to this and carried on with his life. Me? Well, I've been doing nothing, I was getting restless just sitting down and not being active. I had gone out for a few runs but that was the only action that I've been getting. I was put on house arrest by my mate so I couldn't go to my secret place to train and when I told him that, he ordered me to train in the pack gym. Jace got one hell of a scolding from me for ordering me around and I'm pretty sure it's not going to happen again. It's been almost 2 months since my 18th birthday and I still haven't gotten my new powers. There were many times where I just sat in my room and read the book about the white wolves and my powers. I snapped out of my trance when I heard a knock on the door.

"Whatcha doing?" Jace asked, poking his head inside and giving me a smile.

I smiled back and replied, "Just reading," as I closed the book and put it aside.

"Go get ready, the pack's going to have a barbeque in the backyard," Jace said, coming inside the room and pecking my lips before leaving the room once again.

I sighed, it was getting tiring, I couldn't do anything and I really wanted to start to train. Ignoring any sad thoughts, I walked over to my closet and searched through it, trying to find the perfect outfit for a barbeque. A few days after moving into the room, I went on a shopping spree. I bought a lot of clothes... like a lot! I finally pulled out a flowy tank top and jean shorts and then paired it with white sandals. I tried to tame my hair into a pony tail but failed miserably. Giving up, I quickly tied my hair up into a messy bun and grabbed my phone before heading downstairs into the backyard.

It was beautiful. The backyard was filled with people, kids running around, teenagers huddled up in their own groups and the adults sitting separately, laughing among themselves. Jace was grouped with the teenage bunch and quickly noticed me, sending a smile to me. I smiled back and gave him a wave before heading in the direction of the forest. I trudged slowly to another one of my favourite places, a beautiful pond surrounded by flowers and water lilies floating on the surface. I took my sandals off and dipped my feet in, sitting down on the soft grass. I looked up at the sky, staring at the clouds passing above me and the birds chirping in the trees next to me. I was enjoying the peace when I heard footsteps nearing me.

"What are you doing here? The barbecue's in the backyard," Jace said, coming behind me and putting his hands on my shoulders.

I looked up at him and smiled, "I just wanted to enjoy some peace for a little bit."

I stood up from my spot and turned to look at Jace. He grabbed my hand and interlaced his fingers through mine. I started walking back to the pack house, tugging Jace's hand. When we made it back to the backyard, it was the same as ever, everyone was having a good time. All heads turned towards us when we were a few feet away from the crowd. I grew uncomfortable with all the stares and slipped my hand out of Jace's grasp. I could feel his questioning gaze staring at my face but I ignored it by turning my head away and playing with my hands. He put his arm around my shoulders and tightened his grip, pulling me closer to his side. I tried pulling away again but he replied with a growl.

"Stay here, I'm going to go to the kitchen to get a drink," Jace told me sternly, before removing his arm from my shoulder and walking inside.

I strayed from the crowd, moving over to a spot near the barbeque grill. Even on the grass, the familiar sound of heels reached my ears. The pink stilettos stopped in front of me and I lifted my gaze to the person's face.

Cassandra's smirking face looked down at me. I'm 5"8 but she still towered over me with her six inch heels. I mean, who wears stilettos to a barbeque?!? I straightened my back and looked up at her.
