Caroline POV
I stood there, tapping my foot in frustration. Eric scanned the room with a smirk on his face while the others stared at him in shock. Like seriously!! Mouths hanging open and wide eyes, they were in serious shock.
Anyway, I was most definitely not happy to see my brother. Hate is a strong word so let's go with... 'Dislike'. When I say it like that, I don't mean that I hate him so much, I wish he wasn't my brother and never existed. I don't mean it like that.
Eric was the brother who annoyed me. A lot. Pranks, scaring, everything horrible thing that an older sibling could do to you. That was him, he did all of that to me which is why he was my least favourite brother.
When I was younger, I always wanted a sibling. Especially an older brother. Someone who could protect me, scare away all my boyfriends, hug me when I'm sad. I wanted a typical brother but unfortunately I spent half of my life without a brother or sister.
"Which one is Jace?" Eric finally asked as he looked down at me. I looked extremely short and small when I stood next to him. That was one of the reasons why I hated being 5 feet and 6 inches.
I tensed at the mention of my mate's name and so did Dylan. I loved Dylan, only as a friend though. He was like an older brother which was why I trusted him with everything. Eric noticed my tense body posture and I could feel his eyes burning through my skull.
I lifted my hand and pointed my finger at Jace.
"That's him," I said coldly, I wasn't going to forgive him, no matter what he says.
Eric stepped forward and made his way to my mate. When he stood in front of Jace, it was easy to see who the bigger and taller one was. Eric was more muscular and was taller than him by at least a head. I could see Jace flinching and I only guessed that Eric was using his 'Don't mess with me or I'll kill you,' glare.
I gasped in shock and covered my mouth with my hand when I saw Eric's fist connecting with my mate's face and sending him flying across the room. Eric stalked over to him and grabbed him by the collar, lifting him up and slamming him onto the wall. Jace groaned in pain and I could see blood dripping down his nose which was bent in a slightly odd angle.
"That's what you get for hurting my little sister. One more time and don't expect me to keep you alive," Eric snarled at him and stepped back, dropping Jace onto the floor who was looking at my brother in fear.
I got over my shock and rushed over to Jace's side, kneeling down beside him and inspecting his nose. I could see that it was broken which was why it was bent slightly.
"Someone get me some ice and a wet towel. Now!" I shouted, gaining the attention of everyone in the room. Dylan rushed out into the kitchen and came out with a bag of frozen peas and a wet towel.
I was good at healing others especially because I had to do it on myself. So maybe, there was an advantage to being abused by people... including my mate. I looked closer and cringed when I saw all the blood. I grabbed his nose and figured out what the correct shape was. Jace groaned in pain when I touched his broken nose.
"Remove your shirt," I ordered Jace who looked at me in confusion but did it anyway.
I grabbed the shirt and rolled it and in a flash, I stuck it into Jace's mouth.
"Ok, now I need you to bite on this shirt. This is going to hurt. A lot," I told my mate as I grabbed his nose again.
With a quick twist, I snapped his nose into place and Jace screamed into the shirt in his mouth. After a few seconds, I could see Jace starting to relax as the pain started to fade. Before he could say anything, I removed the shirt from his mouth and started dabbing his nose with the wet towel to get rid of the blood. Jace hissed when I touched his nose again.
