At the Base

Chapter 3

At the Base

     "This is the hellicarrier," Natasha said motioning around. I looked around. It was huge! Bubba poked his head out of my bag. Natasha pointed to the left at two men. They were looking at the water underneath us and talking. "Those are two of the people you'll be working with." I made a face, "I have to work? That doesn't sound very fun! Worst adventure ever!" Bubba meowed in a agreement. "Yes, di Angelo, you have to work. We all do if we want to defeat Loki." I sighed sadly. This truly was the worst adventure ever.
"Natasha began to walk over to the two men. She motioned for me to follow her. I picked up my bag and headed over. "Banner, Rodgers. This is Caterina di Angelo. Di Angelo, this is Bruce Banner and Steve Rodgers." I made a mental note to ask her how the heck she new my name. "You forget to introduce Bubba." I told her. I picked Bubba up so he could see them. "Go on Bubba. Tell the nice men your name." He meowed. Close enough. "Good boy!" I said placing Bubba back into my bag.
     Bruce, Steve, and Natasha all stared at me like I was crazy. I guess they aren't cat people... "Well... I'll leave you guys to get to know one another better," Natasha said walking away. (Can you believe that? She just abandoned me!) "Now I know what abandonment feels like." I muttered. I heard Bubba sigh. I think he felt the same way. "Um... Can your cat breath in there?" Bruce asked. "Ya.... I wouldn't keep him in there if he couldn't," I replied.
     We stood there awkwardly for a couple minutes before Steve decided to break the silence. "So... Caterina," "Cat" I interupted. "Ok... So you're going to help us get the cube back?" he asked. I shrugged,"I guess so," I replied. And then he started playing twenty questions.

Steve- "Are you a super hero or something?"

Me- "No."

Steve- "You don't have any powers?"

Me- "Nope."

Steve- "Are you really smart?"

Me- "No."

Steve- "Ok... Are you a spy?"

Me- "No."

Steve- "Then what are you?"

Me- "A girl. Isn't it obvious?"

Steve- "That's not what I meant."

Me- "Well what did you mean?"

     I think he gave up at that point because he stopped talking. Luckily Natasha came over and told us to go inside.
