Chapter 11
My Hero Steve
"Cut the crap, Tony. I can see you're picking on Cat."
Tony put on a look of mock suprise. "Who? Me? I would never! Cat and are are best friends! Aren't we?" He slipped his arm arond my shoulders and pulled me close to him. "No we aren't! " I stomped on his foot with all my might, causing him to release me. I ran and hid behind Steve. "Knock his block off!" I ordered, hugging Bubba to my chest.
"Cat, Tony is a jerk, put I can't just go around beating people up just because they're annoying."
"Then what's the use of being huge?" I asked.
"What do you mean, huge? I'm normal sized." Steve said, sounding slightly offended. "Maybe for an elephant." I muttered. Steve turned around and gave me a real sad look. Tony was snickering. I felt kinda bad for calling Steve an elephant so I tried to make him feel better.
"Not a crumby elephant. A real nice one." I patted his shoulder comfortingly.
I thought it was gonna work until Tony started cracking up. I had to shut him up fast, before he made Steve cry, so I threw Bubba at him.
Bubba soared the air, letting out a not so mighty battle cry. (He did his best.) Then he smacked into Tony's face. He latched on with his claws. Tony screamed at us to help him, but it was too late. Only Bubba could get Bubba off. Steve and I just stood there watching Tony flail around. After a few minutes Bubba got bored and let go. He jumped off and went to go explore.
Tony glared at us. He only had a few scratches, but boy was he making a fuss. He kept whining about how mean we were and how much pain he was in. He got so annoying that we dragged him back to the lab so Bruce could watch him.
When we got there, Bruce was rolling around on the floor. Apparently one of the SHIELD agents had brought in a dvd of the security tape showing Tony getting attacked. Bruce was a mess. He kept replaying it, laughing harder each time.
Steve and I left the lab to go find Bubba. "Thanks for your help, Steve. You're my hero."
