Val Langston wanted nothing more than to be a normal teenage girl. She wanted to go to school with out having to worry about burning the place down. She wanted to be able hold a guys hand with out the fear of hurting him. Val knew it would never be her reality, not when her father is an alpha part of an all alpha pack, or when her mothers a witch, that neglects her, and refuses to teach her daughter how to control her powers.
Val was what Stiles would call a 'were-witch', she was also someone who couldn't be trusted in the boys eyes. Being the niece of the alpha who wanted power and would do anything to get it, even if it included tormenting the werewolves in Derek Hale's pack, didn't leave Val with such a good first impression.
Scott McCall saw it differently, maybe it was because the boy saw the good in everyone, or maybe it was Val's beauty that had him wrapped around her finger. Either way, Val wasn't the enemy to Scott, He didn't see her as dangerous, or apart of Deucalion's pack. He saw her as a normal teenage girl, and that's all Val ever wished to be seen as.
So a boy with a cute smile was all it took for Val to turn on her family and fight for a new one.
