Reaching for you - Keefex

*Trigger warning - alcohol and some abuse.*

Dex forced his legs to work.

"C'mon, it'll be fun!" his best friend Sophie said, yanking him out of the car.

They were in high school as sophomores, and ever since the incident, Dex hadn't been to any sort of party. Had any sort of fun. Mostly just tried to stop the flashbacks and keep his sanity.

Sophie noticed his reluctance and said, "Just... try to have fun, ok?"

Dex nodded, not trusting his voice to speak as they reached the massive mansion known as Everglen, where Sophie's girlfriend, Biana lived.

Sophie had basically dragged him to this party because he had spent the summer holed up in his room. When he finally agreed to go to school, they had basically begged him to go to the start of year party. Great.

Biana came running up to them and gave Sophie a light kiss on the cheek, then hugged him.

"Dex! I haven't seen you outside since... well... yeah. Have fun ok?" she said, dragging Sophie away, probably to get drunk.

Dex took a deep breath and forced his shaky legs to take him inside.

He was just going to hide behind his phone until Sophie came back. Which could take a while.

He walked inside, and it was literally a stereotypical high school party.

People talking and laughing, getting drunk, making out, playing stupid games, etc.

He had just found the perfect corner to hide in, when someone yelled, "I call dibs!"

Bewildered, Dex looked up and saw a group of people looking at him.

The guy who had yelled was beckoning him over.

Wait, he knew this kid.

This was Keefe Sencen, Biana's brothers best friend.

He was a super hot troublemaker, and he went to Foxfire.

Wait what? Shut upppppp he's not hot. Not at all.

He couldn't be that bad, right?

Dex didn't want to draw any more attention, so he went to go sit by Keefe and his friends.

They were mostly talking, something Dex could do. Some of them seemed a little tipsy, like Keefe, but the rest of them seemed okay, and Dex even found himself in an interesting conversation about Greek mythology with this emo kid named Tam and his twin Linh. (PJO fandom :))

He was actually having an okay time, until someone suggested a chugging competition.

Everyone was playing, and Dex didn't want to be the odd one out, so he joined them.

I mean, he kinda needed this. To drink his feelings away.

What was the worst that could happen?

Oh boy, was he wrong.

Despite his better judgement, he had quite a few drinks.

He had considered finding Sophie after the first drink, but that was out of the question as her and Biana we're probably in some sort of weird making out competition.

He shook his head like he was trying to get water out of his ears, and that made Keefe burst into a super cute laugh.

Wait what? Shut up inner Dex.

He had then been dragged into a game of Spin the Bottle.

Perfect. A bunch of drunk teenagers kissing each other. What could go wrong?
