Trigger Warning - abuse, violence, that sort of stuff.

The wind blew the photo out of Biana's hand.

Startled out of her reverie, she yelped and grabbed the paper before it could blow away.

She sighed as the clouds rumbled above her.

It fits the mood of this place perfectly. She thought bitterly, shoving the photo inside her jacket, actually his jacket, that he had given her. Years ago. When their lives were happy and carefree. No. That was a lie. But they were certainly better than they were now.

She hadn't even realized she was crying, until she felt her hot tears tracing paths across her cheeks, mingling with the cool summer rain.

Lost in memories, she subconsciously traced her foot across the mud, and started dancing. The dance was obviously made for two people, and Biana was only doing one part. She heard the song clearly in her head, and when in was over, she was shaking with sobs.

She lifted her head, and let the rain wash her shell of a person away, as she was dragged into the past.

Flashback:

Tam twirled the pen in his fingers. He was in the library, hiding from society.

He didn't have the particular urge to talk to anyone, social interaction was exhausting both physically and mentally.

He sighed as he scratched out yet another error on his stupid history essay. Seriously, why was history so important? It's not like he was gonna become a historian or anything.

"I know, right?" a voice said from behind him.

Tam turned so fast, he almost got whiplash. He hadn't realized he said that out loud. And he certainly hadn't seen the Biana Vacker walk into the library, the last place she would be.

"W- Wh- what are you doing here?" Tam said, his voice cracking on the last word.

Biana looked down and bit her lip.

"Just... I don't really know. The library is quiet. Nice place to go to get your thoughts together." Biana said, looking at the ground.

Tam could tell there was more, but he didn't push. It was already crazy enough that Biana freaking Vacker was talking to him.

Her and her brother, Fitz, had came as exchange students from Britain this year. Their dad, Alden Vacker, owned the largest oil company on the planet, so they could afford a rich school like Foxfire. Tam on the other hand, was viewed as a 'charity case' and was on a full scholarship.

The truth was, he never left the school. He had a twin sister, Linh, but they had been separated when they were seven, sent to different foster homes.

There, he had been beaten and abused, and eventually he ran away. He lived on his own for a few months, but then Social Services caught up to him and threw him in an orphanage.

He had heard of Foxfire, and worked hard to get into the school on a full scholarship, so he could escape that wretched place.

His official designated dwelling was at the orphanage, but he actually just snuck up to the roof and stayed there on warm nights.
