Chapter One: The Hellfire Club

this story is all going to be in y/n's POV.

I jolt awake to the sound of my mom banging on the door, "Y/n! thirty minutes!" she yells. My eyes widen, damn, i really slept in, I think to myself. 

I had to live with my foster mom after my dad, Hopper, died. Eleven chose to go to California with the Byers, but I chose to stay here.

I get up and quickly throw on my Hellfire club shirt and some black jeans. I grab my bag and run down the stairs. "No time for breakfast, your going to be late. In the car" My mom said.

I get in the car and my mom starts driving me to school. I look out at the scenery, looking at the flowers. El would love this. I think to myself.

A couple minutes later, were at school. I get out of the car, "Bye mom" I say. "Bye sweetie, have a good day!" she says before i shut the door.

"Everyone go to the gym!" Mrs Kelly, the school counsler, yells. I roll my eyes, "shit" I mumble. I look at the bus that just pulled in, and see Max get off it. "Max!" I yell for her to hear. She looks my way, and waves. I wave back, right before Mrs Kelly gets her attention.

I stare at them for a minute, then i walk to the gym. I find my way towards Mike and Dustin, and soon Max joins us. "I'm not saying my girlfriends better than yours, its just that Suzies a certified genius" I hear Dustin say to Mike.

"You do know El saved the world twice?" Mike defends Eleven, "He has a point" I say to Dustin. "You still have a C in spanish, y/n" Dustin smarts back. 

I roll my eyes and put my attention back on the cheerleaders. Then, the basketball players come out. The crowd goes wild.

I see Lucas wave to Max, and I look over to Max, and she just looks away from Lucas. "Tonight! Were gonna bring home the championship trophy!".

"Tonight?!" Mike says, "How is that possible?!" Dustin adds. "Its a tournament, you play until theres only one team left" Max explains.

I look at Mike, and see him looking at Lucas. I feel his emotions, he feels confused, and annoyed. We all get up, and I start walking with Mike, Dustin, and Lucas.

"Get Eddie to move Hellfire to another night!" Lucas says. "Just talk to Eddie" Dustin exclaims. "Just talk to your coach and get him to move the game" Mike smarts back.

I stay silent, just listening and watching with an amused face. "I'm not going to get coach to move the CHAMPIONSHIP game!" Lucas fights back.

"This is the end of Eddies campaign!" Dustin says. "Lucas you've been sitting on the bench since you joined the team" I say, finally joining in the conversation.

"Yeah shes right Lucas" Mike says. "Thats not the point, If i get in good with these guys, i'll be popular and so will you guys!" Lucas says.

"Has it ever occurred to you that we dont WANT to be popular" I say. Lucas turns to me, "So you wanna be a part of the nerds and freaks?" He says.

"Lucas! We are nerds and freaks, we always have been!" I say, getting a little irritated. Lucas sighs, "Come to my game, please". Before any of us can respond, the bell rings. 

I bounce on my feet a little bit before sighing, "Shit!" i say.

I stand beside Dustin and Mike, watching Eddie read some type of magazine to his friends. "Shit, hes really revved up today" Dustin comments. "When is he not?" I say. "True" Dustin says back.
