Jay, Ni-Ki and I had to arrive early to practice, so we can work on Chamber 5 more. Since I did a solo performance and they did Flame on, we don't know it.
"We did Chamber 5 and we are the only three who didn't do it on the show so we don't know the choreo. The other members are resting comfortably but we're here to learn the choreo from scratch. Right now, our heads hurt a lot" Jay said to the camera.
—
"Take a little break~" The dance instructor said to us after we finished running over the song. The three of us left and got some food before sitting to eat it.
Ni-Ki sat in between Jay and I. Jay and I easily got our straws through the plastic easily and I took a sip before turning to Ni-Ki, still struggling a bit. I watched Jay just take the straw and poke it through with ease.
—
I just scrolled through my phone and ate my sandwich in silence until Jay said something. "Come to think of it, it was the hardest when I was a trainee" Jay said. "Since you trained for 3 more years. I didn't even train for a year" Ni-Ki said.
"I only trained for 2 years, but 5 months of it was at a different company" I said. "Oh, that's right. Jungwon hyung and you were at the same company before" Ni-Ki said. "I never knew him there, though. We only talked once briefly during the evaluation" I said and took another bite.
"When I was a trainee. You probably came here without feeling that yet since you trained for about a year, but I questioned whether I could debut. I was just waiting while I kept getting older. That made me think, what about my future? Honestly speaking, when I reached 3 years I wondered, 'Is it right for me to do this?'. So much time had passed, but I had yet to see a future. So it was really rough. For both me and Heeseung hyung" Jay explained.
"I was the only girl, so debuting in BigHit never seemed possible. I debated leaving Korea and returning to Japan every night. It was tough, not seeing a future" I agreed with Jay. Out of everyone, I feel as if Jay, Heeseung and I had the toughest time being a trainee, maybe Jungwon as well. "We've all come so far" I sighed and took another bite.
—
"Chamber 5~" I sang and practiced the dance while everyone else stretched. "You got it quickly," Jay told me and watched me dance. "The cuteness of this song is sadly burned into my brain and never leaves. So, I have everything memorized" I sighed and danced to the chorus again.
—
After some practicing all together and me almost dying from acting cute, we finally got to take a small break. "We'll take it from the top in 10" The dance instructor said.
Heeseung poured all of us a cup and I pretty much immediately drank it all in one go. "It's Chuseok today" Jake said. "Guys, it's Chuseok today" He repeated. "Magpie's Chuseok" Sungoon sang. "What do you mean, magpie's Chuseok" Jay laughed.
"Oh yeah, there's a song for New Year's" Sunghoon mumbled as Jake fell back laughing.
"It's Ni-Ki's first Chuseok, right?" Sunghoon asked. Ni-Ki gave him a small nod. To be honest, it was mine as well, since my parents were never here to help me celebrate or teach me about it. "Chuseok..." I mumbled to myself, but just kept quiet. I wanted to ask how we celebrate it, but I think it's just food, games and family, right?
"We'll have to eat a good meal today" Jungwon said as everyone nodded along. I mean, it's just a simple holiday, right? "Chuseok, it's a big holiday right?" I asked as everyone nodded. "You've never celebrated it before, have you?" Heeseung asked me.
"Yeah..." I mumbled and nodded. "Haven't you lived in Korea for almost 3 years now?" He asked as I nodded again. "Ni-Ki and Emily's first Chuseok in Korea. We should make it memorable" Jake said as they all agreed.
