On the far of planet of Nessis, Wren Knull worked diligently on a small Vex portal as his ghost held up a holographic display of schematics

Ghost: This is never going to work.

Wren: We won't know until we try.

Ghost: Isn't messing with Vex technology the reason why Europa looks the way it is?

Wren: Yes but I'm not a cynical idiot like Clovis was nor am I trying to open a MASSIVE gateway. Just a small one so I can know about the past.

Ghost: But why? You know changing things in the past will effect the future in ways you can't even imagine!

Wren: That is why I will only observe. Just like the Stranger. We know so little of the past due to the collapse. So if I bring that knowledge to the present, our future could change for the better.

Ghost: Or for worst. You should just let this obsession go Wren. Remember how you got after you saw a Hive Ghost? You spent WEEKS in Savathuun's throne world even after we killed her.

Wren:*stops and sighs* You're probably right...

Ghost: It's okay. What even made you want to pursue this anyways?

Wren: Well...Ana was reading this book and she said she wanted to find out how it ended...*blush* and I...

Ghost: You're going to the past to get the book and give it to Andromeda in the hopes she'll like you? Huh?

Wren:*sighs in defeat* Yes....

Ghost: Just talk to her Guardian! It's that simple. You talk to her every day!

Wren: It's not that simple! Sure I talk to her casually but laying out my feelings to her, especially now with the Leviathan being back, I think it's best I bury these feelings until this thing blows over.

Ghost: It won't end well unless you tell her guardian.

The sound of a sparrow approaching came in from the distance and it got closer until the driver could be made out to be Andromeda speeding towards Wren and his work site

Wren: Speak of the devil.

Andromeda:*stops and gets off* Wren! I've been calling you for hours! Where have you been!?

Wren: Just..this stuff. You know, tinkering and fidgeting and-

The warlock accidentally shocks himself with the machine which coincidentally activates it and the white portal forms inside the ring glowing bright

Andromeda: Creating a portal to somewhere?

Wren:*shakes his hand* Yeah..ow. Hm. Wherever this leads I hope it's where I want to go.

Andromeda: And that is...?

Wren: The past.

Andromeda: And WHY do you want to go to the past?

Wren: Because-

Ghost: He wants to find you a book you've been reading.

Andromeda: Aww~ So sweet~

Wren:*grabs Ghost and stuff him in a backpack*

Ghost: AAH!! No! Please! It smells like cheese in here! And I don't even have a nose!

Wren: Prick.

Andromeda: Wren..

Wren: Ugh! Fine! Yes I am fixing this Vex portal and going to the past to grab you the book you've been reading because... because I- LOOK OUT!!

Tackling her out of the way, a laser ricochets past them and they were suddenly surrounded by Vex Goblins and Minotaurs

Wren: I thought this area was safe!

Andromeda: Don't think about that now just fight!!

Andromeda pulls out a revolver and shoots the white light in the center of the Vex robots spilling Radiolaria on the ground. Sliding up to the Minotaur in front of him, Wren pushes it into a group of Hobgoblins using telekinesis and finishes them off with a solar grenade which burns them to slag

Andromeda: We have to get out of here!

Wren: Let me get my notes!

Andromeda: Wren no!!

Going for a data pad, Wren felt a large object impact his back and he was sent flying into the portal. The massive energy spike from the blast caused the portal to malfunction

Andromeda: WREN!!

Wren: A-anaa!!!

Wren's screams become digital as he was sucked into the portal and the overload causes it to explode leaving a crater where it once was

Andromeda: WREN!!!

A laser flew past her and she fired back but was outnumbered and ran. With no time to grieve or fight, she hopped on her sparrow and drove off into the forest.

Somewhere...

In a lush green forest, all was quiet with acception to the sounds of nature in the distance until the peace was disturbed by a white orb of light forming where it morphs into the form of a man screaming until the light dies and he falls to the ground

Wren:*groan*

Looking up, Wren could barely see and shields his eyes from the sun

Wren: Where...where am I?
