"That hurt." Orion said. He slowly got up, and saw that he was at least 30 to 42 feet away from a village.
"Careful, everybody. We're in Calorian territory now." Shadow Foxy explained.
"Calorians?" Cory asked.
"7 foot creatures with blue skin, and either 3 or 4 foot long tails, as added length." Orion memorized.
"Guess that memory's working again." Izzylyn thought. Cory looked around, and saw a large dust storm heading towards the group.
"RUN!" Shadow Foxy commanded. The group ran like they never had, with Shadow Foxy and Orion in the lead. The village got closer and closer, and so did the dust storm. Calorians walked up to the edge of the village with their spears out, ready to kill. Shadow Foxy held his arms out in front of him, and they changed. Shadow Foxy's arms morphed into long, sharp lances. The Calorians' eyes went wide as they were brutally impaled with the lances. Shadow Foxy kept on running, as did the rest of the group. The dust storm seemed to get smaller and smaller, yet faster and faster at the same time. The group burst into a tavern, and Cory closed the door behind him.
"Is that everyone?" Orion asked, out of breath. Cory nodded.
"I'm the last one." He replied. Everyone in the tavern stared at Orion, Cory and Izzylyn, as if they had never seen their kind before. Orion stared back.
"This feels like 3rd grade all over again." Orion said under his breath. The wind banged against the door, but Orion held it back.
"That same storm has been coming by for 2 weeks now." The tavern keeper explained, "Same wind, same time, same amount of destruction. It'll stop in an hour or so." The tavern keeper was short, and had long, pointy ears. He was washing a dirty glass mug, and didn't look up.
"An hour?!" Amilie screamed. "Listen here, you dwarf! I want your manager!" The tavern keeper didn't care at all.
"NOOOW!" Amilie screamed even louder.
"Can it!" Orion ordered. His voice seemed more demonic than normal. Everybody in the tavern looked at him, some with shock, others with question.
"Good work on shuttin' up this tavern. Not even I could do it, kid." The tavern keeper congratulated. Amilie just stared at Orion. She stared at him for 45 minutes. Amilie only blinked 4 times.
"Seems the storm left early." The tavern keeper thought. Orion opened the door, and it was gone. The storm had settled.
"We should keep moving. The storm might come back." Moonlight explained. The rest of the group nodded, and they headed out.
"Hey, kid!" The tavern keeper said. Cory looked back.
"There's an abandoned house on the outskirts of town. Check the floorboards. You might see a violin. Use it when the storm comes back." The tavern keeper explained. Cory nodded, and left. He closed the door behind him. The group walked down the dirt and gravel road. Many shops and bakeries were on the sides, but they were all closed.
"All this storm talk must've driven away the rest of the town." Orion thought.
"Not everyone!" Somebody exclaimed. The group stopped in their tracks, and looked around. Amilie saw something in an alleyway move.
"Orion, protect me!" She yelled.
"Will you ever shut up?" Shadow Foxy barked.
"She did this all the time back in 5th grade, trust me." Orion explained. Orion saw something in the corner of his eye move.
"Who are you?" He asked the wind.
"I'm Elena." The person responded. She walked out into the sun.
"I've never seen you before." Shadow Foxy claimed. The person's skin was dead pale. Small fangs were exposed. She wore a cloak that covered her from the burning sun. Elena had claws almost as sharp as Shadow Foxy's, and she had ears the size of a wolf's.
