"Where did the Eye go?" Shadow Foxy wondered.
"Into the wrong hands." Cory said. He looked at the creature of darkness, and it had the Dragon's Eye.
"What happens when a creature like this gets the Eye?" Izzylyn wondered.
"When a Dark Shadow obtains the Dragon's Eye, they have the ability to create opposites of whoever they want." Shadow Foxy replied.
"Translation, Moonlight?" Cory asked.
"The creature can make copies of us." Moonlight explained.
"Darkness will always prevail." The creature stated. It shrunk down and twisted itself to look like Orion.
"How about we call it Shadow Orion?" Cory suggested.
"Eh." Shadow Foxy shrugged.
"I mean, it kind of fits, doesn't it?" Izzylyn explained. Shadow Orion held his hand out, and the ground shook. Six holes opened in the ground and dark versions of Cory, Amilie, Elena, Moonlight, and Shadow Foxy rose out from the holes.
"Okay, I see what you mean about the cloning thing." Elena said. The group was ready to fight, and so were their clones.
Shadow Foxy lunged at his copy, claws extended. His copy simply kicked him away. Moonlight shot an arrow at her copycat, but she caught it, and threw it back. Cory threw rocks and kicks at his opposite, but everything missed. Amilie tried to punch her clone, but she missed. Elena threw a fury of claws, kicks, punches, and bites at her own copy, but nothing even scratched. The group tried attacking their own clones, but everything missed.
"All of this is useless!" Shadow Foxy yelled.
"If you can't fight yourself, try something else!" Cory explained.
"What?" Amilie questioned.
"By Solan, the kid's right!" Moonlight said. "If we fight ourselves, we're perfectly matched. If we switch opponents, we might win!" The group swapped places, but the clones didn't. Cory punched Shadow Foxy's copy, Moonlight shot Cory's opposite, Amilie punched Elena's copy, Elena clawed Moonlight's copycat, and Shadow Foxy ripped Amilie's clone. The dark versions of the group stood nearly no chance against each other. Shadow Orion growled, and knocked the group back.
"Six down, one to go." Shadow Foxy explained. He sprinted towards Shadow Orion, claws out, and teeth ready. Shadow Orion only stood there, waiting. Cory grabbed a stick, and ran after Shadow Foxy. Shadow Orion knocked Cory back, and fought Shadow Foxy. The dark fox plunged his left arm into Shadow Orion's stomach, and ripped out the Dragon's Eye. He threw it to Moonlight.
"When I say, shine it!" Shadow Foxy ordered. By that time, it was nearly sunset. Shadow Foxy and Shadow Orion fought deep into the night, but the fox got the upper hand.
"I've studied Orion in the short time I've known him. I know all his strengths, and weaknesses!" He explained. Shadow Foxy jumped over Shadow Orion, and kicked him in the back. Shadow Orion fell in pain.
"Now!" Shadow Foxy barked. Moonlight held out the Dragon's Eye, and looked away. So did Shadow Foxy. Shadow Orion looked up, and got locked in the amulet's gaze. The amulet shone brightly, and the leather string wrapped around Shadow Orion.
"No. No!" He exclaimed. Shadow Orion slowly got sucked into the amulet. The dark substance that made the creature of darkness slowly broke off.
"Eventually, I will return, and you will not stop me." Shadow Orion declared.
"Keep dreamin' buddy!" Cory yelled from a distance. The dark substance continued to break off and get sucked into the Dragon's Eye. Eventually Orion was back.
