Secret Agenda
————————
After I walked into the dark room, I closed the bookcase door and found an unscrewed light bulb hanging from the ceiling. I twisted it in and found a staircase going up. I jumped my way up the staircase with one hand holding the rail and the other my crutches till I found a room leaking light from behind a door.

I open the door and find Mr. Draven sitting in an old, red, flower chair looking right at me. In front of him stood a wooden coffee table and another red flower chair. He moved his hand to indicate for me to take a seat.

I walk across the dusty wooden floors, careful not to step on the books scattered around the room. The table was filled with tea and cookies in all different shapes and colors. It looked like I was having afternoon tea with my teacher.

Once I took a seat he started to talk. "Please have some. I didn't know what kind you would like so I got many different flavors." I look at him cautiously.

"Oh that breaks my heart Esma that you don't trust me enough to not put poison in your food," he says as he puts his hands to his heart. I just roll my eyes and stare back at him. It's like idiots follow me everywhere I go.

"Considering you weren't late I assume you didn't have a problem finding this place."

"Of course not. Who do you take me for?" I asked.

"I was just worried those other children were making you start to lose brain cells."

I look at him and quickly change the subject, "10 o'clock tomorrow at the entrance building. It will be dark by then so make sure to bring a candle."

"You better not fail me, you know what this will cost you if you fail."

"I know I know, I do amazing work, make sure to come and see it."

"I know, I taught you."

"Right again, sir."

I follow him back down the stairs after grabbing my crutches to the bookcase door. He looks out the keyhole to make sure no one is there then pushes the door open. We walk out and then I slide the book back into its place while Mr. Draven puts the key to the door back into the book.

Then while Mr. Draven walks out of the library, I stay there a little longer looking through books I haven't read before.

By 6:30pm I am out of the library and back in the dorm lobby surrounded by James, Madeline, and Bailey.

"What were you doing in the library that was so important," questioned Madeline.

"I was just looking and reading books for our next Coding quiz."

"Wait, when is that quiz," said Bailey with a panicked face.

"The day after tomorrow."

"I-I have to go study" she gets up from the chair and starts to walk to the door till she stops and turns around looking back at me says, "What is the quiz on."

Madeline quickly bits her lip trying to keep a straight face and James looks away from Madeline so she can't see him smirking. "Coding," I say. Bailey may look like she is about to break into the gym and steal a few weapons to throw at me, but I just wave and say, "Good luck studying," then she storms out of the lobby.

Madeline and I decided to go to bed early (by early we mean 9:45) because of tomorrow night's homecoming. My crutches leaned up against the wall next to my bed and my ankle was raised up on one of my white pillows. I closed my eyes and I mumbled to myself, "Good luck."
