Playing the Game
——————————
Five years have now passed and I am now 12. I am the number 1 assassin in the world and my codename is Raven. We all have earned the directors' trust and we all walk around the building freely, but we still aren't allowed outside without their permission and one of the guards in black as an escort. Even without a guard watching the others, they all have been brainwashed into thinking they should be happy with killing others versus staying in the orphanages. They believe they are doing good and getting rid of filth that covers the Earth.
It's sad..but nothing can be done to change them. I already tried. Tonight is the night, I will get revenge. For Adrien, for Martin, for Sofia, and for everyone else that was kidnapped, killed, and brainwashed. I'm going to blow up this building, and make sure everyone along with the building dies in the process.
As night falls, I sit on my black metal bed in my own room. After a few months after we all started going on missions, we all received our own rooms.
They were small, but more comfortable than sharing a room all together. The walls were a cream color and our beds, that were pushed all the way to the right side, were covered with a thicker green blanket with white sheets and a white pillow. To the left of the bed was an identical metal shelf where my weapons were shelved. On the wall on the left was a tiny closet where I stored my few clothes, a pair of combat boots, and my blue backpack I used on missions.
Tonight though, my backpack was filled with food I brought on previous missions, my weapons, a rope, and the most important thing, the button. When my black watch striked 2 am, I raced down the narrow hallway to our old room. From there I slipped through Sofia's and my old shelf and crawled through the old tunnel that was filled with cobwebs and dust till I reached the end. I put my ear to the wall to make sure no people were there. After I didn't hear any noise I opened the small wall and escaped to the exit.
I am now sitting on a tree 30 feet above the ground overlooking the building where I just spent my last 7 years. The building is a light brown and blends into its environment well. The building is only a single story but still pretty large. It was hard enough to steal the bombs because the room was always surrounded by guards, but to plant them around the entire building without being caught... that took a lot of time. And because of all the time wasted, I have to watch it.
I reach for the button I put into my backpack and pull out the red button. I look back at the building for a second then press it. After 10 seconds the first bomb goes off, then the second, then the rest. It's like the firework display I used to watch every year with my parents.
I pick my head up to look up at bright stars and say, "I hope you all are watching this from heaven." I continue to watch the building to make sure no one escapes till I hear the sounds of police cars and fire trucks. "I guess that's my que to leave." I climb down the tree and disappear into the night. I thought everyone died that night, but I was wrong.
The next morning I awoke to Mr. Draven standing right in front of me. "Good morning Esma," he said with a wave, "I thought I taught you better than to leave a target alive." I silently curse to myself then try to grab my weapons, but they aren't there.
"Are you looking for these," he raises my backpack that is full of my weapons in the air, "I'm saddened by how stupid you think I am."
"What do you want from me?" I ask.
He smiles, "I need you to kill someone for me."
"No, I'm done with killing people for you!""That's fine. You wouldn't then mind if the police learn of your murders."
"You wouldn't."
"You know very well I would. Judging by how many people you have killed, you would be sentenced to life in prison, maybe you would even get sentenced to the death penalty."
I bit my lip. Darn it. I have no choice. My life rests in his ugly, bloody hands. Wait, I don't think I can say that, it would be hypocritical. "Who is it?"
Mr. Draven smiles and says, "His name is James Carson, his father just started looking into the accident you caused. His son could also be looking into it."
"Where does he live?"
"He lives in Seattle, Washington. He will go to a secret boarding school for CIA agents called Ares Valley High School in 2 years when he becomes a freshman. I will help you get into that school, then once you get in you are on your own and your job is to kill him by any means necessary."
"Which way is Seattle?"
"That way," he points to the west. He gives me back my bag and I quickly pull out my knife. I run towards him and reach my knife out to his chest, but Mr. Draven is faster. He dodges my attack and punches me vigorously in the cheek. I fell to the ground. "Stop now before you get hurt," Mr. Draven saids firmly.
I spit out blood and stand back up. Mr. Draven reaches for something from his pocket. I take a few steps back and raise my hands. "Calm down, it isn't anything dangerous." He pulls out a flip phone from his pocket and throws it to me. "Take it, this way we can get in contact before you go to Ares Valley." I grab the phone mid air and turn away on my toes. "Make sure you finish the job this time," he mumbles and walks away in the opposite direction of me.
I was picked up by Mr. Tellur two weeks later in an Idaho forest. He drove me to his wife's orphanage where I spent my last 2 years till one month before the accident with the serial killer I received a call from Mr. Draven on my flip phone. He said to me, "You have almost been accepted into the same school as James Carson. They are now going to send someone to watch everything you do to see if you are worthy of joining the school. If they find you worthy, they will kidnap you and ask you in person. It is up to you now, you better get in." Then he hung up the phone. So I decided to help catch a killer. It worked amazingly. The same night I caught him they "kidnapped" me.Once I got to the school I knew right away the brunette was James. I helped him and soon he became my boyfriend. Still, there was a problem. I knew too many people.
Jayden was getting suspicious of me. That boy is too smart for his own good, like me. But in the end there's only one winner.
So on the mission I asked Mr. Draven to help me expel Jayden. It wasn't my plan to get Blake expelled, but that was the only choice given to me. After the group escaped the house Mr. Draven went in and broke a few items. The man who they were following (a former spy) was not happy and even called Mr. Anderson to let him know of the mess. Blake and Jayden were expelled on the spot.
It wasn't my intention to get involved with Madeline, Bailey, and the rest of them in the first place, and now I have to fix it.
