standing still,
breathing fast.
love instills;
here at last.

here she is,
here by my side.
hair and frizz—
nerves subside.

striding over,
standing proud:
beside my lover,
before the crowd.

vows soon stated,
tears are spilled.
food is plated,
young'n's thrilled.

a glass in hand,
her eyes on mine,
precious time and
a chilled spine.

raise to a toast
eating mousse
thanking the host
with orange juice

a sound that thrills
lifts up my gaze
"don't you dare spill,
or your card's what pays."
