Kawaii-Chan placed the test on the counter, braiding her hair. She always did this when she was nervous. She shouldn't be nervous! 'I'm being paranoid, it's gonna be negative,' she thought to herself. A small part of herself hoped it would be positive. The part that had no common sense.

A knock on the bakery door startled her. She was expecting Noi to come today. It was a Monday morning, and the bakery was opening up. Her and Zane lived above the bakery, in a rather large apartment. Zane made a pretty good income, and her bakery was pretty successful, so they lived rather good, in her eyes.

KC ran from the employee bathroom and shut the door. She grabbed her and Noi's aprons and walking to the door, a smile spreading across her lips. She opened the door and embraced Noi in a hug.

"Good Morning, KC!" Noi smiled, breaking the hug. "There's a few people outside waiting for us to open," he said, pointing out the window. There indeed was a line of 5 people, waiting for it to hit 10:30. KC looked at her watch.

"It's 10:27," she laughed. "We need to get the display cakes and cookies out, huh?"

Noi nodded, walking behind the counter, KC following him. She unlocked the register and watched Noi place cakes in the display window. KC's stomach growled. She already had breakfast, but that cake looked good. Noi flipped the closed sign to an open one, and opened the door to customers. KC handed everyone their orders, her mind elsewhere. She grabbed a woman's bag and said, 'Have a nice day.' The lady gave her and evil look and didn't budge.

"My change!" the lady said sternly. KC snapped out of it.

"Of course, ma'am, I'm very sorry. How much change was it?"

"2 dollars," the woman grumbled, holding her hand out. KC quickly grabbed two dollars out of the cash register and plopped them in the lady's hand.

"There you are miss, have a lovely day," KC smiled, closing the register. The grumpy lady marched away, slamming the door behind her. The bakery was empty except for Noi and KC.

At 4:00, they closed the bakery to bake more cookies. They had sold out today, and they needed more for tomorrow.

Noi and KC put on hairnets. KC melted butter in the microwave. Noi got out the recipe, and started reading aloud. KC followed his instructions, getting the ingredients as required. As KC placed the milk on the counter, a wave of nausea hit her. Strange. She placed her hands on the counter and closed her eyes, head tilted down. Noi looked at her strangely.

"Are you ok, KC?" he asked, tapping her shoulder.

"Fine," KC said. "Just tired."

As Noi placed the cookies in the oven, KC washed her hands in the bakery kitchen sink. A giant clump of cookie dough she was washing off her hand got stuck in the sink drain.

"Oh no," KC said after she couldn't get it out. The sink started to flood. "Noi?"

"Mhm?" Noi asked, looking at the mess. "Oh no," he then repeated, looking at KC.

"We'll have the call a plumber tomorrow," KC said, turning off the sink. Noi nodded. His hands were still covered in cookie dough.

He stared at his hands. "I'll go wash my hands in the employee bathroom," he sighed, taking off his apron. KC started to clean the kitchen, before remembering the test on the bathroom counter. She gasped, and raced to the bathroom, but it was too late. Noi had the test in his hands, and looked up at KC. She groaned, realizing he was staring at the negative pregnancy test, and blushed, embarrassed of her paranoia.

"KC," Noi breathed. He looked up at her. "You're pregnant?"
