Characterization Facts in my Story

- Derek is very young for being the Chair of Neurosurgery but he has always been way ahead of his peers and has always been destined for greatness 

- Seattle Grace is one of the top teaching hospitals in the country 

- Jake, Naomi, Mark, Addison, and Derek are all good friends and Meredith gets on well with all of them too

- References to the Shepherd kids also includes Mark as he grew up in the Shepherd household and has been part of the family before Amelia was born

- Derek and Amelia have a very close bond and she has always idolized her brother and in fact she wants to get to work with him and he fully trusts her and he is not condescending toward her

- Maggie, Amelia, and Meredith are all very close and have special bond

- Mark and Addison are married 

- Jackson and Meredith have a special bond due to the fact their family members were icons in the world of surgery

- Meredith considers Alex to be her brother kind of like Derek and Mark are brothers 

- Lexie, Maggie, Alex, and Mer are all very close

- The entire Shepherd family loves Addison, Mark, Lexie, Maggie, and Alex

- Mark and Addison slept together while Derek was in his 6th year of residency, they had been married for 4 years and there is no bitterness amongst them and they are all very close friends now (OB/GYN residency is 6 years, Plastics residency is 6 years, and the Neurosurgery residency is 7 years plus a fellowship year)

- Derek was not married when he met Meredith in a bar and very early on in the relationship and Derek was very forward and disclosed he had been married to Addison and was now divorced

- Derek has been working on a treatment and a potential cure for Alzheimers since he was in residency and his hardworking is finally starting to make waves in the medical community

- Meredith grew up with a lot of money due to her mother's notoriety as a world class general surgeon but she didn't really know what real love felt like until she met Derek

- When her mother died she left behind a fortune to Meredith and the Grey foundation

- Meredith and Addison are very close 

- Meredith, Addison and the Shepherd sisters love shopping and have expensive taste

- Mark and Derek also have expensive taste luckily they are world class surgeons who can afford the lifestyle 

- Meredith grew up between Boston and Manhattan

- Derek has made tons of money from being a world class neurosurgeon 

- Addison comes from a very wealthy family 

- Meredith actually gets on very well with Derek's family 

- The Shepherd sisters are actually very nice people and everyone gets on with them very well with them and their families

- The Shepherd family is a very close family unit

- Cristina has grown and developed a lot as an individual since we first got introduced to her intern year

- Derek is now less black and white from when we were first introduced to him 

- Dr. Richard Webber is still the Chief of Surgery

- Derek and Meredith have both gone to individual counseling and couples counseling over the years as they both have experienced a lot of tragedy both in their early childhood and as adults (e.g. gunman)
