Once her shock wore off, she was angry. That emotion plagued her a lot lately.

"And you weren't going to tell me?" she raised her voice.

"No," he argued, raising his voice slightly too. "I knew if I left you alone that you'd leave town. And you did. You were safe. There was no reason to tell you."

She shoved him as black fog surrounded her hands and he actually stumbled backwards. "You had no right to keep that from me."

"What if something happened..." to you. "...because of me?" tears fell down her scraped cheeks.

"You would've been safe," was his only response like it was the only thing that mattered. And she hated it. She hated the way her heart clenched. She hated these feelings wrapped around her.

"I hate you," she muttered and she hated the way his eyes revealed his pain.

"I'm sorry you feel that way," he said emotionlessly but she knew it hurt him.

She stomped out of the Hale House and waited for Scott and Stiles. She couldn't look at Derek and how he made her soft.

              ____

Scott gave her a ride home and she muttered as she got off his bike, "I hate today."

             He chuckled, "So do I."

She started walking towards the house, "My brother is going to kill me."

"Good luck and Eira..." he called, making her turn around. "I'm glad you're back."

Scott put his helmet back on and he was off, speeding away. Eira sighed before walking to the house and entering.

"Eira, where have you been?" Stefan wrapped her in a hug before pulling away after hearing her wince to see the cuts on her cheeks. "What happened?"

"I crashed my car," she said sheepishly.

"Is anything broken? What hurts?" Stefan analyzed her.

               "I'm fine."

"You've said that all summer and I know that's not true."

"I don't want you to worry."

"I'm always going to worry," he pulled her in for another hug, this one softer and gentler.

"Well, you're going to worry about what I have to tell you next."

                "What is it?"

And she told him an Alpha Pack was after her which only induced more frown lines.

            _____

The night haunted Eira. She used to love gazing at the stars or the moon but now she disliked all of it. She couldn't stand the shadows. The shadows were spirits and instead of haunting the ones they left behind, they haunted her.

On this night, she held a death grip on her pillow like holding it so tightly would give her some type of comfort but there was none. Her eyes held fear as she stared at the figure floating at the end of her bed.

Usually, the spirits didn't take physical form but this one must've been strong like the one from the car wreck. When they did take physical form, it looked someone put a sheet over their head to look like a ghost but these ghosts wore black sheets. Only the upper half of their body appeared with smoky tendrils trailing beneath them.
