"Stop fooling around you two and get on the ship!"
José yelled from the top of the deck down to Luchino and Kevin, staring intensely at them. They scratched the back of their heads and slowly made their way onto the ship. Demi sat in the corner, filing her nails.
"So, where're we off to?" she asked.
"We're gonna-"
José was cut off by Kevin grabbing around his waist, smirking.
"Honey, can't we take a break?"
"KEVIN WE'VE BEEN ON A BREAK FOR AN HOUR ALREADY!"
He hit Kevin on the head and huffed, crossing his arms.
"Anyway, as I was saying-" he paused. "I don't know where we're gonna go..."
"An hour isn't enough captain.~"
"Don't call me that..."
José held his fingers to his forehead and sighed.
"Fine... we'll stay here for food but then we're gonna get going. Aesop, get us something to eat."
Aesop furrowed his eyebrows but left to get food. When he returned, the others were sat by the wall. He waved the bag around and they grinned excitedly.
"Finally!" Luchino exclaimed, holding his arms out. "I'm starving."
Aesop joined them on the floor and they grabbed food, eating sloppily. Demi looked at them, disgusted and she scoffed.
"You men are gross, don't you have any manners?"
Kevin looked over at her and shrugged.
"Not all of em, just us!"
Demi looked away and continued eating, stopping suddenly.
"Why are there no other women here?"
"I dunno, don't ask me. Ask José!"
She asked him the same thing.
"Look, I have no idea either. Just forget it, it's not that important anyway."
Demi was visibly mad but she forced herself to calm down. Luchino called for everyone's attention and they turned to him.
"Guys I just remembered! This is really cool, so listen close. I heard from Antonio that mermaids are real! He told me that a group of other sailors captured one about a week ago!"
José's eyes lit up and he rubbed his hands together.
"If this is true, we'll be rich! So rich! That damn violinist better be telling the truth or his face will meet my fist."
"That's a bit harsh don't you think...?" Kevin whispered.
José stood up with his hands on his hips, smiling mischievously.
"Doesn't matter. As long as this makes us money, we'll do anything to these mermaids even if it means killing them! We'll be rich! Richer than we could ever imagine!"
He laughed and ran to the ship wheel. The others looked at each other, slightly concerned.
"Glad we're not mermaids..." Demi remarked.
They waited by the decks wall, sitting impatiently.
"José...~" Kevin cooed. "Are we there yet?"
"If you start acting like a child, I will throw you overboard."
Silence.
They continued sailing, making their way to the general area where Luchino mentioned. After searching around for a while, they made it to the rocky terrain. José ordered the crew to grab oversized nets from under the deck. Aesop and Demi grabbed two, sharing them with the others. Demi huffed and grabbed the net that Luchino was holding.
